Freeper Larry Schweikart captures the essence of the unparalleled military success of the US Military with this book. Have their been mistakes? Yes. Have there been defeats? Yes. But the over-riding history of the US military is that of the most tremendous success, coupled with the most compassionate treatment of its enemies, and loyalty to its own, of any military force on earth.
In America's Victories, Schweikart uses seven points to punctuate a great deal of the reason why the us miltary has enjoyed such success. Those points are:
In this regard, I would highly recommend Schweikart's other recent, and best selling work, "A Patriot's HIstory of the United States".
As a published author myself ("The Dragon's Fury Series", and "The Stand at Klamath Falls"), my hat is off to Mr. Schweikart and his clear grasp of American history and his ability to render in into the written word how that history has translated into a military force that has done more to secure freedom, and extend it, than any other military force in history.
FYI...great read!

Sounds like a great read. I'm going to get it.
You won't be sorry. A great addition to the library. Great for kids and grandkids to get a feel for and facts concerning our military and why it is able to do what it does.
I just ordered it, along with Bill Sammons' "Strategery" (I really enjoyed "Misunderestimated") and Barnes' "Rebel-in-Chief." I'm taking a long trip this summer, and this is my kind of reading material!
Thanks Jeff. I will have to add both books to my library.
Outstanding...I am ordering Strategy too.
Thanks for the ping!
Excellent.
I was planning on writing my own book "French Victoires" but I couldn't come up with any source material.
I pray the book does well. Thanks for the heads up and a bttt.
You hit the nail on the head for Chapter 3.
You are very welcome AG! Thanks for the BUMP.
You are welcome. I am concerned about any so-called American Union as well and the possibility of our enemies or those disloyal to the Constitution getting it done through treaty. There should be an amendment that makes any treaty that would impact the constitution or the union in any such way require the same process as an amendment...because in essence, that is what it becomes.
Well...actually, the French, long ago, were a great help to us in the Revolutionary War. However, today, and since soon after WW II, they have gone their own way and spurned us. Having said that...there are French people, and plenty of them, who remember. Someone is taking care of all of those American graves.
FGS, this book is full of precisely that...the "can do" attitude and general positive outlook that has been an American hallmark.
Well, it's encouraging to know some of this ol' East Texas country boy's thoughts run in the same herd with bona fide scholars amongst us. Again, hoping for another successful effort for you.

Thanks for the review. Heard Larry on a public radio interview (linked on FR) recently. He was an outstanding guest and treated the somewhat hostile callers with respect. It was a great interview and Larry was terrific.
One is forced to wonder if that spirit can be widely rekindled. 9/11, for all its destruction, seemed to temporarily ignite that spirit, at least until the diligent efforts of the Dims and their media comrades reined us in. The nanny state will not be denied, eh?
