Murtha is a leftist and a liar. It may seem surprising for someone who rose to the rank of Lt. Col. However, I know someone personally who retired a full bird colonel whose ideas and dishonesty dwarf Murtha's.

Murtha is a small town politician who has ridden his military service (most of his time in was in the Reserves. He volunteered as a company grade reserve officer for Viet-Nam and apparently was a battalion staff officer. If Drunken Dan hadn't been willing to be the bulletproof (in rat eyes) spokesman for retreat and defeat and smear the troops he would have found a lot of nasty stories about his finances appearing in the Washington Pest and a US Attorney investigating him and his crooked brother.
