See the Seebeck Effect, discovered originally in 1821: I am very interested in the WayBack Machine!

I have a cooler that already has this.
Plug the junction plugs in 'dis' way and get heat.
Plug them in 'dat' way and get cooling. (reverse polarity)
Pretty cool for a car cooler.

I have an old line printer that has a spinning wheel that has the characters around the perifphery (SP?).
A soleniod whacks the paper from behind, pushing it into the whell, which is inked by another spongy roller that rides on the wheel.
The wheel goes across the platen on a thread screw rod.
Wieghs MUCH more than a boat anchor and I paid $200 for it back in late 70's.

they already have self cooling beer cans except they are chemically powered and are expensive
they are similar to the cold compresses where you break them and put them on the injury.

Daisy wheel! Nope - those were IBM. Mine had letters around the outside of the rim; like an engraved ring has a messasge around the outer surface.
