Looks like Houston is a mess and things could get a whole lot worse.
How is your part of town looking? Roads? Flooding?
We're in Pearland near where 1128 and 518 (Broadway) intersect. Our yard has a small amount of standing water but all looks well for now.
What does Conroe look like?
I am in Conroe and there is hardly anything here. It looks like it is all south of The Woodlands.
I have a shop up on 59 just north of Little York that's flooded about 4" deep. The access roads were closed earlier but our people were able to get in there and start pumping out.
Got'cher high waters on?
Not too bad in the Galleria Area, just kinda soggy.
Storm system dumps rain on southeast Texas

Flash flooding from torrential overnight rains are playing havoc with Houston-area commuters Monday.

Cars were stranded Monday morning in high water, and some roads were completely impassible.
A flash flood warning is in effect for Harris and Brazoria counties until 8:15 a.m.
A flood watch is in effect until 4 p.m.
The worst problems are reported in southeast Houston.
The National Weather Service reports almost 6 inches of rain fell within 75 minutes near Hobby Airport in southeast Houston. It estimates 5 to 8 inches of rain fell in three hours along Sims Bayou in southeast Houston.
The Houston Fire Department said it already has performed some high-water rescues of motorists at one intersection near Hobby Airport. Underpasses in the area are under water.
"We're seeing rainfall rates of 4 or 5, maybe as high as 6 inches per hour early this morning in some areas," 11 News meteorologist David Paul said.
As of 7 a.m., the band of storms was dropping 2 to 4 inches per hour.
The bayous with the heaviest rain overnight were Halls, Greens and Hunting bayous.
Parts of Interstate 10 and Beltway 8 in southeastern Harris County are flooded and impassable. The Washburn Tunnel beneath the Houston Ship Channel at Pasadena is reported to be flooded and impassable.
Flooding also was forecast along Armand Bayou, between Ellington Field and the Johnson Space Center.
On the Texas-Louisiana border, up to 6 inches of rain was reported in and around the border city of Orange.
More rain is in the forecast for those areas.
"The whole system is slowly drifting southwest, and as that low drifts southwest over the Houston area and southeast Texas today, everybody along the path of that low [pressure system] and to the southeast of that low will have the threat for heavy rain," Paul said.
Rain chances through dinner time remain at 70 percent.
Both George Bush Intercontinental and Hobby airports were open, but officials said Hobby has had lots of rain on the roads leading to it.
"For that reason, no flights are arriving or departing at this time," Marlene McClinton with the Houston Airport System said.

Runoff from excessive rainfall has caused a significant rise on White Oak bayou from the headwaters above Jersey Village to the confluence with Buffalo bayou near downtown Houston. The two areas most likely to go out of banks are near Jersey Village where over 5 inches of rain has fallen and along lower White Oak near and upstream from the cdonfluence with Buffalo bayou. In past events... rainfall of this magnitude has caused flooding on Interstate 10.
At 925 am... rainfall was decreasing and moving away from White Oak bayou. An additional one half inch of rain is expected... ending by noon.
Persons with interests along The Bayou should keep alert to rising water and
take all precautions to protect their property. Do not drive or walk into
flooded areas the depth and water velocity could be too great for you to cross
safely. Motorists should avoid travel until flood waters recede.

A Flood Warning remains in effect for ... garners bayou... armand bayou... CArpenter bayou... Vince bayou... Greens Bayou... Halls bayou... hunting bayou... Sims bayou...
Some overbank flooding continues due to runoff from very heavy rain since midnight. The majority of flooding is streat and drainage flooding. The most severe flooding is generally east of i45 along Greens Bayou and from downtown Houston southeastward through the hobby area eastward through Pasadena. Some water will be getting into houses. Major Road flooding along with some out of banks conditions on the bayous will continue for several hours after the rainfall moves away. Depth of water varies but is considered life threatening if trying to walk or drive through it.
At 910 am... the heaviest rainfall had shifted southward to the Clear Lake area and Galveston County. Additional rainfall over the warned bayous should be spotty one half to one inch amounts ending before noon.
Residents are urged to stay in their homes or businesses until the flooding recedes.

I'm in the Galleria - I bet very close to IHSV - and not much happening here. Still damp and sprinkly, and there's very little traffic on Post Oak Boulevard.
On the west side, near Briar Forest and Kirkwood, it POURED this morning.
I'm plenty dry but the little pump at the dock ain't making much progress!
This kind of rain has to be seen to be believed.
Oh no! The dock isn't flooded, is it? Aieeeeee!
Update: Flood Warning Until Noon for Jefferson, Orange Counties Reported by Scott Lawrence June 19, 2006 - 8:29AM
(Homeowners at 39th and Taft in Groves watching floodwaters creeping toward house, created by drivers causing wakes.)
A flood warning remains in effect until noon for Jefferson and Orange Counties.
Some parts of southern Jefferson County, including Groves, have received up to eight inches of rain.
At several intersections, including 39th Street and Taft in Groves, cars are stalled and water is being pushed toward homes by drivers creating wakes as they travel down streets.
Police are asking motorists to avoid those areas.
Heavy rain also was reported in Bridge City.
Parts of 39th Street in Groves are blocked this morning.
PAISD summer school classes have been cancelled Monday, and Tekoa Academy in Port Arthur is closed. Lamar State College Port Arthur is scheduled to open at 11 a.m.
Heavy rains also drenched Calcasieu Parish overnight.
In some areas, the rain has come down at a rate of three inches per hour. In one area of Sulphur, rainfall was recorded at 12 inches per hour.
Sulphur Police report that most of the city is under water. Police advise that residents there should not leave their homes unless it is an emergency.
Residents in some neighborhoods are reporting that flood waters have entered their homes.

My neighborhood turned into a lake. It's gone down, but all the areas I go to work are flooded.
I'm figuring if I wait til 11ish, then most of the stuff at I-10 and Post Oak Rd will be gone and I can make it through.
We had 4 employees call in and not make it in so far.
Dude, you better believe it! It came down so hard, it woke me up, and I sleep like a hibernating bear.
The funny part is that while it woke up the humans in the house, the livestock snoozed right through it. I was peering at the clock trying to get my eyes to focus, and the Dread Boston Salty let out a big snooooore - I cracked up!

The above from the Sulphur LA area.... It's hard to believe but it happens and thankfully it only does that for a portion of the hour. Or, in cases where I've seen it happen it will deluge you for a period of time then slack off, but it comes down so fast that it can't run off fast enough. In this flat land country that is what causes the flooding so rapidly.
Send it to New Mexico please, I've had no measurable precipitation for months. Humidity at 10% for the last week.
I know the feeling, we had two on the northside and one in Baytown, the last one flooded her car.
And the real pisser in all this, is it's supposed to start up again this afternoon. I really don't want to be trapped at work.
I'm going to call them in a bit and see what the situation down there is. Old Katy Rd and N. Post Oak Rd. are a recipe for flooding and traffic snarls.
Psycho Dog went out and played in the rain. That dog is not right in the head!
