Horowitz has it right. The Democrat party has become the radical socialist party in America. Anyone who votes for Democrats are either in on the scam or hasn't been paying attention.

For the first time in American history, a major political party wants America to run from a war we are winning

I don't technically agree with this statement. We were winning in Nam at one point but the anti-American protesters i.e. Fonda, Kerry and company made sure we lost our honor and will to succeed. The rat b@st@rds!

"For the first time in American history, a major political party wants America to run from a war we are winning."

The Democratic Party is bizarre and insane and must not regain power.

"Anyone who votes for Democrats are either in on the scam or hasn't been paying attention."

Or has bought into the incessant Bush/Republican bashing by the MSM for the past 6 years.

BTW, has anyone seen ANYTHING in the MSM about those papers from Zaq that clearly show WE are WINNING? Of course not. Doesn't fit into the "America is losing, it's a quagmire, it's all Bush's fault" template. /spit

In 2003, Ted Kennedy announced that Iraq "will be George W Bush's Vietnam". This was part of a strategy to launch his protege, John Kerry, as the leading candidate of the Democrat Party by taking on the anti-war effort that he had done in the 70s.

The plan, to turn up the anti-war rhetoric and use the natural desire of Americans to see a war end quickly and with minimal casualties, into a campaign theme. Its a no-lose strategy because every time a soldier dies, it becomes another reason to support John Kerry. Every time something bad happens (and bad things happen during wars), another reason to vote for Kerry.

Well, it didn't work, but the anti-war movement grew a life of its own and the Dems are sticking with it. Is this another Vietnam?

Hmmm...lesseee... Vietnam lasted 14 years, this one is about 5 years old. 3 months of war, and 4.5 years of nation building.

Did we capture the president of North Vietnam, kill his sons and totally destroy his regime? Errrr....no.

Did we kill the insurgency leadership (Ho Chi Minh) and his top 30-40 lieutenants? Errrrrr..no

Really, the only thing that Iraq has in common with Vietnam are the following;

- Dems using surrender as a political strategy
- Media aiding and abetting the enemy

Now, I am ready for US to declare victory and get the hell out of there, but we should do it when the Iraqi government is standing on its own. We will probably have to keep a good number of US troops on bases in the desert to provide a rapid response in case things get out of hand.

But more importantly, we need to get a few more of the cockroaches over there squashed. Most likely, Syria got the WMD from Saddam and Iran is working feverishly on their own.

We need to get Iraq wrapped up so we can finish the job.

We need to reframe this. First, we won the war in three weeks. What followed was an occupation which also ended when Bremer turned over sovereignty. We have been fight off a counter insurgency and building Iraqi capacity to defend themselves. That is nearly complete. We are moving into a final phase of pacification which will involve reconcilliation of Iraqis. Americans can understand this. They know and can remember how we helped build strong, modern societies in Germany, Japan, and South Korea and have had troops there a long time.

We also need to stop falling into the bring the boys home mantra. We are not talking about boys drafted into WWII. We are talking about professional soldiers. Boys come home from war and go back to the factories and fields. Soldiers come home to do what? Sit around bases and play checkers? Note Murtha is not talking about bringing men home to America. He suggests Okinawa. That does not fit the sentimental meme of "Bring the boys home".

Even the new media usually lets the left set the stage and define the terms. That is hurting us here.

Finally, every mobile home that comes up for sale here is bought by an illegal indochinese refugue. They are still fleeing communist oppression, and we are still experiencing the effects of abandonning our Allies. That's not just history. It is current reality.

We have got to start referring to the RATS as the Socialist Party.

"Ted Kennedy was claiming, 'The president’s war is revealed as mindless, needless, senseless and reckless.'”

The Democrat party has become the radical socialist party in America.

The beginnings of this 'political-disease' go back to Henry Wallace... FDR’s Vice-President during WWII... until FDR dropped Wallace because of his far left views. He displayed unctious admiration for Stalin and committed indiscretions that resulted in release of classified diplomatic data to the nazis. In 1948 he ran for president as the 'Progressive Party' candidate.

However... the traitorous behavior of Murtha, Kerry, Kennedy, Pelosi and the rest make even Wallace seem half-way palatable.

The Democrats always love to claim Jefferson as their ideological founder. I disagree with this claim. I have a better historical figure for them....

FDR wasn't much better....his "New Deal" comes straight from the playbook of Leon Trotsky....and he sold Eastern Europe out to Stalin at Yalta.

Scratch Okinawa... we've agreed to pull out of there. I'm afraid Murtha will have to start saying Guam instead.

But you & I both know he doesn't plan to re-deploy or fight this war at all. These cowards will follow the tenets of George McGovern & Jimmy Carter should they regain power... the same tenets of defeat that gave rise to Islamo-fascism.

More like the Communist party, why short shrift their efforts calling them 'democratic', which is the last thing they are...

The Democrats have turned back the clock nearly 40 years. In '68, the anti-war, pro-Commie, faction of the Democratic Party ensured Nixon's election. Radical defeatism has never won a national election.

I still maintain that repubs will hold on to both houses. Americans make fun of France for cutting and running and being cheese eating surrender monkeys. Why would Americans vote that in for this country. It is an example of how the modern dem party is more in line with west European elites and not Americans
