THE ratings-starved Maury Povich and Connie Chung weekend show on MSNBC ended its short, six-month run with a bizarre send-off - sure to live on as a tone-deaf stunt Chung will not soon be allowed to forget.

Perched on the edge of a white grand piano and decked out in a full-length evening gown, the former CBS and CNN anchorwoman warbled a farewell song that put down Dan Rather (with whom she co-anchored the CBS news in the early 1990s), her husband and cable TV - all at the same time.

"Thanks for the memories," she sang to the tune of the old standard:

We came to do a show for very little dough

By little, I mean I could make more working on skid row

She's always been a strange one.

So is her husband, Maury.

He seems intent on DNA testing every illegitimate kid in America.

She was always mediocre.
Only difference is, she's gotten more nasty with old age, and her make up has gotten considerably thicker.
She and her creepy husband are a blot on the TV landscape.

Well he'd better get ready for his own DNA test if he continues to screw other married women that he works with.

Oh yeah, skid row residents can always make more than her, what a WHINER.
If her paycheck went down from the previous TWO MIL A YEAR on her previous show, it's because she was lousy at her job.
Don't you just hate to see people sell themself like this, when they are desperate?? Maury and Connie both, smell of desperation. I think it's called flop sweat or some such yucky term.

I'm sure Newt's mom could give her a few pointers.
I could see it now, "but I thought they liked me", sobs Connie. Newt's Mom responds with "that's your problem Connie dear, your thinking, you need someone constantly telling you what to do, maybe Maury can find you some pick up work around that set where he incites near riots, you know picking up knocked over furniture or something"
