THE ratings-starved Maury Povich and Connie Chung weekend show on MSNBC ended its short, six-month run with a bizarre send-off - sure to live on as a tone-deaf stunt Chung will not soon be allowed to forget.
Perched on the edge of a white grand piano and decked out in a full-length evening gown, the former CBS and CNN anchorwoman warbled a farewell song that put down Dan Rather (with whom she co-anchored the CBS news in the early 1990s), her husband and cable TV - all at the same time.
"Thanks for the memories," she sang to the tune of the old standard:
We came to do a show for very little dough
By little, I mean I could make more working on skid row

O.K. Imagine... Some banjo and fiddle bluegrass tunes... Chung's freaky low with Yoko's screechy high in harmony.
Bye !!!
I wonder how much they paid that poor guy on the piano to sit there smiling through that horrible drunken display (if not drunken, then there's really no excuse)
I got as far as the grunt when she slid off the piano.
She grunted! It was a gross display of lack of talent and taste.
ewww
Bob Hope is probably rolling in his grave.
Me or Connie?
She's been on a downward spiral ever since . . . "just between you and me . . . what does he think of Hillary?"
Some people just have a tin ear for comedy.
When she was doing "Eye to Eye" I dubbed her
"Slanted Eye to Eye"
pun intended as her news and views were always very slanted... he he

As they said on The Soup about Connie: "Me So Horny!"
As some poster's tagline at FR has it: "The problem with bad ideas is that they seemed like good ideas."
Yikes, horrors and I'm thoroughly stuned!
The funniest parody of Connie was done by Bobby Lee on Mad TV.
Had her doing a show in her basement using an old blanket hanging from the rafters as a backdrop (like we used to do when we were kids and it was raining outside). As she's trying to do the interview, the alarm on the washing maching goes off and she has to stop the interview to put Maury's clothes in the dryer.
I was laughing so hard I was crying!!
Sounds like she's reach the parody stage in real life.
I don't think we'll be seeing a CD of her vocals any time soon.
She couldn't carry a tune.
And she was a tad clumsy trying to roll around on the piano.
She seemed to have nipped a few at the piano bar before boarding the piano.
I didn't know they had a program.
I wonder how long the security check is before boarding a piano. Did she have to remove her shoes?
Ha, I actually emnailed a note to MSNBC after their first show and told them it sucked. Said for Maury not to give up his day job.
Both of them are washed up, and don't get it. Two loony liberals. I haven't liked Connie since the Newt Gingrich's mother's attack interview.
Some people really deserve the bad things that happen to them. Of course, objectively speaking, it is hard to describe the millions of dollars Connie Chung has been paid when she is such a no-talent hack as being "bad".
Long goodbyes choke me up.
Next time I pass Connie's house I'll wrap an appropriate goodbye missive around a rock and toss it on her porch.
Sniff!
