He was not. His period of service occurred during the same time as the first Gulf war, but Kos himself stated in an article earlier this year that he "missed deploying to the Gulf War by a hair." Wow! Glad someone got that! I actually had a modicum of respect for the guy after I read that he said "served during the Gulf War", leaving the impression he was a participant. Now I REALLY feel that he is a POS.
Heck, I served during the Gulf War - in Berlin.

Heck, I served during the Gulf War - in Berlin. For that matter, so did I! Of course, I was in ROTC in college, but the principle is the same!
Markos Moulitsas is just a few steps beneath contemptible. A few more idiotic statements like that, and he will sink below Murtha and Kerry into the despicable category.

Maybe he and Tom Harkin can kick back, drink some beers, and tell wartime stories of non-combat, together.
That would be like me saying "I remember what it was like to carry live bombs over Iraq....of course I never dropped any."

LOL
I served in GW1, in Las Vegas (Nellis AFB)
and during Vietnam for that matter - curiously, also at Nellis AFB.
