"That none of them teach that children should not hang around with non-Christians? It was those two points that I said sounded like the muslim teachings. Read a little closer next time."

Still nonsense, go back and read your post again. You said up until 5th grade which includes more than two.

"Okay - now are you saying some fundamentalist churches DON'T teach that the only ones going to heaven are those who've found the "truth?" "

OK would you be happy if Christians said "believe whatever you want and do whatever you want and you will go to heaven"? Thats pretty much what the Unitarians think.

Okay, so we've kicked out the Unitarians. Which denominations are permitted? And who isn't? What about someone in a country where Christianity has not been introduced but has an overall sense of goodness and morality? Are you going to let him in?

Fantical religion of all stripes has caused a lot of misery in the world. Islam is currently one of the worst, but it wouldn't take much to get some of the fundies fired up enough to be quite dangerous.

[taps Spyder on shoulder]

My FRiend, listen to what you just said.

Now, your earlier posts offended some Christians, who have made their upset known to you, and it would be wise to not dig yourself in deeper. You will not win this exchange, nor will you tie except by withdrawing.

I offer this FRiendly advice not to offend you or them, but merely to remind you of the obvious analogy to relieving yourself into an oncoming breeze. Matters of deeply held belief and religious faith are often debated here, but rarely is anyone's position changed by it. Likening -anything- about Christianity to -anything- about Islam is likely to get you flamed, if not zotted. If I were you I'd declare a draw, retire from the field of battle, and find another topic to post on.

Of course, if you wish to continue in your current vein, you're quite welcome -- I've got a big bag of popcorn at hand.

Actually, I don't think any of 'em have a lock on everything "true." Christians are probably a bit closer, but considering the variety of beliefs even within each particular denomination... well, like I said, nobody's got a lock on it.

Is this your infallible opinion?

"Okay, so we've kicked out the Unitarians. Which denominations are permitted? And who isn't?"

Denominations have been created by people so they can be around other people who think like themselves. To my knowledge denominations weren't created by God.

"What about someone in a country where Christianity has not been introduced but has an overall sense of goodness and morality? Are you going to let him in?"

What does the bible say on this subject? Does being good and moral (whose morals?) meet the standard God has said is necessary? I don't decide who goes to heaven, thats something that God has taken on.

"Fantical religion of all stripes has caused a lot of misery in the world. "

So has secularism. It really comes down to people. Just because someone says they are Christian doesn't mean they are Christian. People love power and religion facilitates power. If they weren't corrput when they started then the power given tothem has probably corrupted them.

"Islam is currently one of the worst, but it wouldn't take much to get some of the fundies fired up enough to be quite dangerous."

Islam has been the worst for about 1000 years. I don't see the "fundies" getting fired up and doing suicide bombs, cutting peoples head off and so on.

It seems that someone in a religious capacity has wronged you and you are blaming all religious "fundies". Its sad.

YOU seem to be stuck on "up until the fifth grade".

Suggestion: You need to sort out your personal issues with the Lord/parochial schools/etc before you attack "fundmentalist" Christians - the only kind that matters by the way.

Take care.
