It would hurt a lot of people financially and emotionally if any of them were rounded up and deported.

When I was a prosecutor I knew alot of hard-working people who did ILLEGAL drugs. I am sure that it hurt them financially and emotionally when the police arrested them, and I prosecuted them. So, I guess you would have had me let them go? I guess it was the police officer's fault for doing their job and arresting these people? Never mind the fact that they violated the law. What part of ILLEGAL is everyone not understanding?

I agree with you.

My problem is that my own county and state governments have told the police not to question people, not to ask status, ask for papers etc..

The school system knows damned well which students are not here legally..or at least knows how to verify any suspicion. The orders come from the top.

I live in a blue county and state but my governor is republican. IOW, failure to enforce has be the modus operandi of both sides of the aisle...all the way up to the House and Senate. All the way up the White House.

They should all be thrown out of office for allowing it to get to this stage. It should have been addressed years ago, but it's the hot potato of politics.

They are not dumb, evil-minded people we elected. You think they thumb their noses at you because they don't enforce the immigration laws.

I can understand the Feds...the taxes withheld from phony or stolen ss#s translated to a lot of dollars to the treasury.

My own motivation and why I enjoy them? They were the backbone of the housing boom...both as carpenters and landscapers, but they were also 1st time buyers which drove the move-up market.

I'm sorry for rambling. I don't express myself very well too much of the time.

But I think you're all taking stupid pills. No disrespect.

I could have said ignorant pills. ;^)

Thank you, thank you. Just when I was trying to formulate an answer to DCPatriot's whiny post, I read your perfect response.

I agree, I also know many hard working people with a family- great people- except they are dumb enough to drive when drinking. Do I want them let go because they are good people otherwise; my answer is NO, because I and or my family and friends or anyone else does not need to meet them on the highway.

Committing crimes is not something only slimeballs do, sometimes otherwise decent people do drugs, get DWIs, commit assults- you name it. I get tired of hearing about the hard working illegals, and how we should ignore the fact that they are here illegally. The other issue is many of the hard working illegals commit other crimes like identity theft and using false documents. For some reason many think we should just ignore it all, but only for a certain group of people.
