#471, exactly right, and there was another article last night that I am going to try to retrieve that gives all kinds of evidence that Murtha has been trying to undermine the ability of anyone but congress to lodge ethics complaints or punish Congresscritters that do wrong in any capacity. These are a series of Bills he has introduced designed to throw roadblocks up to anyone outside of these sleazy House and Senate Panels to delve into wrongdoing. I believe aliveritas may have it somewhere.

Is there a law of treason on the books that has any HOOKS in it??

It's written in the Constitution.  All it takes is someone witht he guts to enforce it:

Article 3, Section 3 - Treason

Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort. No Person shall be convicted of Treason unless on the Testimony of two Witnesses to the same overt Act, or on Confession in open Court.

The Congress shall have power to declare the Punishment of Treason, but no Attainder of Treason shall work Corruption of Blood, or Forfeiture except during the Life of the Person attainted.

The ditsy chits began a new rant against the President just before the release of their new CD. Unfortunately, while there was a report of their song getting to #1 on the charts, no one wanted to hear them in concert. So the venues were cancelled and they're going to Canada and Australia.

"I really go ballistic when Madelein Albright is interviewed and lies about how "they" did it better than the present administration. (You know, that peace thing and the economy.....etc.)"

I'm the same way - - they did such a super job w North Korea, OBL, Somalia, Sudan, to name a few. She reminds me of a better dressed Helen Thomas (blech!)

Remember too Weasley Clark bombing civilians from 20,000 ft. as as not to incur any US casualties.

He bombed a train carrying civilians to work. They bombed the water pipeline, the heating oil pipeline and left the Danube so cluttered with debris there was no way for normal shipping of goods for a long time afterward. Impacting everyone along the river.

He also dropped cluster bombs on a city street filled with civilians.

And let's not forget the Chinese Embassy oopsie doopsie.

"Podesta lied twice in one statement on Fox News Sunday.
He said recruitments were down and retention was down."

That must be one of the new (revived) Dim talking points - I heard another Dim or 2 say that within the last week. I could be wrong, but I'm thinking Al Murthaqawi and/or Nancy BelaPelosi said it on the House floor.

The thought just occurred to me that Tim might be busting his britches by playing KingMaker, realizing the the Dems success won't happen under Pelosi. FWIW.

Murtha is one of "Nancy's boys."  The whip,  Steny Hoyer, has been supportive of the war.  Nancy want's him gone.  Murtha just jumped the gun.  I bet Nancy told him he should maneuver to get the post and Murtha wasn't bright enough to understand that meant behind the scenes.  The man is an imbecile.

Fox the other day they had an expert doing analysis of the '08 election and he went over the options and said he fears '08 will bring a repeat of 1991; with McCain as the Ross Perot-type spoiler.

I've heard this but I write if off as media wishful thinking.  This new so-called third party trying to gain traction too.  I would be surprised if Republicans fell for another third party candidate so soon after Perot.  It sure appears this kind of talk is coming from disgruntled Democrats and the media more than anything else.  They are both vested in defeating Republicans and turning the country back into Democrat hands.

"And finally, why didn't Wallace ask Snow why Bush has my fellow Marines incarcerated WITHOUT BEING CHARGED at the Camp Pendleton Brig!"

Probably because the military is handling it and Bush or Rummy aren't. It's my understanding that if anyone in the chain of command says anything about a military case, it can have consequences for the case - so they can't say anything.

Mannie, mannie mannie.... The reason that many people do not understand that under the UCMJ a service member is guilty until proven innocent IS THAT IT FACTUALLY UNTRUE!

Military Criminal Law

SOURCES OF AUTHORITY
The military justice system derives its authority from three major sources:

The Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ).
The Manual for Courts-Martial (MCM).
Army Regulation (AR) 27-10.

The UCMJ is a federal law and the basis of our military justice system. It determines what conduct is criminal, establishes the various types of courts, and sets forth the procedures to be followed in the administration of military justice. You can find the UCMJ in Appendix 2 of the MCM, United States, 1984 or in 10 United States Code (USC) §§801-940.

The MCM is an executive order that details the rules for administering military justice. For example, it sets forth the rules of evidence for courts-martial and contains a list of maximum punishments for each offense. Each company-size unit should have a copy of the MCM.

AR 27-10 supplements the MCM and is the basic Army regulation for administering military justice.

ROLE OF COMMANDERS
As company commanders, you are responsible for both enforcing the law and protecting soldiers' rights. Their discipline and morale may depend on how wisely you exercise your authority.

The military justice system needs adequate administrative support to work effectively. As a company commander, when you forward charges your involvement in a case does not end. In addition, you must ensure that the accused appears at all proceedings in a clean, proper uniform. You may also be required to provide witnesses, vehicles, drivers, escorts, and bailiff's from your unit. Military witnesses are especially important to the success of a proceeding. A court may dismiss a case when a witness is not available. Under no circumstances will you interfere with an accused's right to present witnesses at a court-martial or with the testimony of any witness. (See UCMJ, Article 37.)

RIGHTS OF SOLDIERS
The military justice system provides for certain fundamental rights and safeguards that must be considered in any case involving criminal conduct.

Presumption Of Innocence
Under our legal system, everyone is presumed innocent until a court finds them guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. A court may make a fair and just decision only after it has heard all the evidence relating to the guilt or innocence of an accused.

The longer our AG goes without enforcing the treason laws, the more out of control internal opposition to our government becomes due to perceived strength of position.

I have believed, very strongly, from the beginning there should have been an indepth investigation of the Clinton pardon of Marc Rich.

When that was pushed under the rug it emboldened Clinton and all his cronies to undermine our current administration with multiple treasonous acts... what do they have to fear? Nothing, just look at Sandy Berger.

I've been way too busy this spring and apologizie. Did Murtha annnounce he wanted Pelosi's job, or Hoyer's, also assuming Hoyer wants Pelosi's job too.

Nope, not a peep out of him. He cast no votes as he was not present for any of them.
