#360, for my money he looked the most foolish with the football. He resembled an ugly,tall black headed sandhill crane bent in the most nonathletic looking position trying make an attempt at hiking the football. It was enough to make you hurl until you drop. Just heard a soundbite from Murtha. Said President Bush should learn like Reagan did in Lebanon and Clinton did in Somalia.

That's the quote I refered to in my post about Timmah's show.  My original exposure to Murtha's participation in the "defeat and retreat" from Somalia came from a thread pissant posted yesterday.  Here's my post (with the link to pissant's thread) from yesterday's Weekend Preview Thread:

Read the original NRO blog entry (included in the thread).  We've got to make sure that this gets out.  John Murtha's approach brought about 9/11.  That's not spin.  That's fact, as supplied by Osama bin Laden himself.

Yeah the Junk Media should waste time on the worst National Security Adviser in US History. Him and Carter failed to nip Islamic Fundamentalism in the bud and now better men are having to clean up their messes. Remember Saddam did not seize power directly until 1979. Iraq AND Iran are their failures. Same lie, just a new talker. The Abe Lincoln's "Mission Accomplished" banner had nothing to do with the President. He has ALWAYS said this will be a long tough war. Since BZ is willing to lie about this, what else is he lying about?

What are they alleged to have done?
Why are they not being charged?

Furthermore, I bitterly resent the suggestion that mistakes made during this war were mistakes of incompetence.

Having lived thru the second world war, Korea, VN, first Gulf War, etc. I find the very idea of a so called perfect execution of war to be insulting and demeaning to those who put their life on the line to fight the war.

We have fewer dead, more injured lives saved, more men and women enlisting.....despite the lies from the left that we can't recruit and we can't get re-enlistments.

We need someone to stand up and tell the truth. Not leave the lies out there as gospel.

Gary Sinise has done more for our troops and for bringing civilization to Iraq than most "actors" could dream of, but nary an MSM word. That's fine.

But cher "tiptoes" into a Congressional hearing in a white lace top and GA-GA-GA!!

OK.  I've gotta be honest.  I would definitely give Gary Sinise (MUCH) more respect than Cher, under any circumstances.  He's one of my favorite actors.  But if Cher walked into the room, even today, after all of the Joan River's treatments she's had, I'd still be tempted to go GA-GA-GA!!

I know, I'm sad and it's mostly remembering her from 30 years ago, but hey, I'm a guy!

I do give her credit for doing something in support of the troops, however minor. 

As to Sinise, one of my great regrets is that the film version of Tom Clancy's Without Remorse that was going to star Gary Sinise was not made.  That would have been one helluva movie!

...the press coverage (in no small part pushed by those here on FR) has pushed the Marines to remove the shackles. In no small part... also due to the ripple effect of FReepers using their own e-mail lists to get the word out.

Or maybe it has nothing to do with that and has to do with the fact the Investigation was completed this week.

With out a doubt the best Combat Fiction writer around but definitely NOT for the weak of heart. Some of his stuff can be kind of rough on the civvies.
