The Talk Shows
Sunday, June 18th, 2006
Guests to be interviewed today on major television talk shows:
FOX NEWS SUNDAY (Fox Network): White House press secretary Tony Snow; New Democrat Network President Simon Rosenberg; former Clinton chief of staff John Podesta.
MEET THE PRESS (NBC): Rep. John Murtha, D-Pa.; Shell Oil Co. President John Hofmeister, ConocoPhillips Corp. Chairman James Mulva, Chevron Corp. Chairman David O'Reilly.
FACE THE NATION (CBS): Snow; Sens. Joseph Biden, D-Del., and Lindsey Graham, R-S.C.
THIS WEEK (ABC): L. Pre-empted for World Cup coverage.
LATE EDITION (CNN) : Snow; Sens. Pat Roberts, R-Kan., and Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif.; Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari.
In which case fire Murtha and the rest of the Congresscritters and we will just poll to decide what laws to pass. For a "People's Representative" that is an incredibly stupid statement to make. He basically admitted he has no principals and merely does what ever polls tell him to. Umm what if the polling data is fraudulent or flawed Congressman?
Fire Murtha now! He clearly has gone senile.
I listened to Tony on Fox News Sunday and missed Murtha today (thankfully). And then I went to bake a Father's Day dessert so I'm really not tuned into the news now.
BTW, thank you for your always informative and link filled pre-game show thread. Phsstpok, I've said it before and I'll say it again: You are a national treasure and represent the best of Free Republic.
Didn't get to see Tony, only Dreazen. The host was clearly anti-republican.
Lost to Georgie?
Now THAT'S humiliating.
Only the WSJ editorial page is conservative. Otherwise, it 's much more liberal than even the NYTimes according to a recent study.
I'm certain that's where this started, but I think he's gone beyond that now. IMHO he thinks he's now immunized against any charges and he's beginning to believe his own press notices. He thinks he's important, a major player, witness the announcment of his run for majority leader.
Watch for the long knives to come out for him soon. Quietly the people he's now treading on, those with real power and the ability to wield it, like Steny Hoyer, will slip information to their stable of friendly reporters (they each have some) and you'll start to see "the Murtha machine" coming apart. It will be interesting to watch where the attacks come from and try to work backwards to who is planting the information.
You mean floor of the House Peach. He is a Congresscritter
See you in a half hour for C BS.
Whoops! You're absolutely correct, Johnnie. I stand corrected.
Interesting to note old friend -- the only paper I subscribe to is the WSJ. I read somewhere about the political balances of newspapers -- and the WSJ was identified as very liberal in its "news" section, and only conservative on its editorial page. I watched part of the cspan interview with this guy, and was equally disgusted with his presentation of information and misrepresentation of facts. Typical liberal reporter -- carrying the DNC agenda whereever he went. Furthermore, I was very stunned when the host was taking calls, and one republican caller ticked off a bunch of facts, and the host said to him: "you must have listened to Hunter Duncan on the floor".....the host did not challenge any democrat caller with a similar question/statement. No surprises, as I find cspan just as liberal as the rest of the "media".
Happy Father's Day to all...

Tony Snow coming on now CENTRAL TIME...
Thanks anita, this is a great read. Amazing.
The results are guaranteed to be leaning LEFTWARD.
Thanks for the link
WSJ Editorial pages are very different from the "news" pages. The "news" pages might just as well be written by NYTimes or Financial Times writers.
RE: Our two missing soldiers..."GIVE THEM BACK!"
"I knew we were loosing when the garbage wsn't being collected"....good lord.
