Bolivia's President Evo Morales, with a wreath of coca leaves, speaks during his visit to the coca-growing region of Irupana, some 151 km (85 miles) from La Paz, June 17, to open a Venezuelan-funded factory where coca leaves will be made into legal products such as tea and soft drinks. "They're going to make flour, tea, soft drinks and other products in the first two plants," he said.
Why do I have a hard time believing this statement? Luckily, I still have a fair amount of Coca Cola stock, ;-)

sigh, it is a shame to see a political shift in a country to a chavez marxist supporter helped over an issue as basic as one of their staple crops, whatever the other political background.

Freepers here may be offended that they actually dare grow coco in countries where it grows natively, even if freepers don't like this. it is a cash crop worth more to farmers, and if freepers want to stop it they might address 1) consumption in the US (something I have yet to see freepers reduce) or 2) competitive prices of the alternate crops in production areas, which remain behind coco.

If americans weren't buying the stuff, there wouldn't be much of a market. Your favored politicians have kept the border relatively open the last 6 years. deal with it.
