N. Korean leadership ordered its citizen to raise their flag and listen to their (government) communique from TV in the evening, according to Sankei Shimbun (of Japan), quoting Japanese government sources.
The paper said it is paying attention this development because it could be related to the launch of Taepodong-2.

I meant having nukes is a "good idea" from N Korea's perspective, unless they are made to suffer crushing consequences. Telling them it's a "bad idea" is not going to stop them. Words like that from the West are not respected by dictatorships.

This is huge news. Surprised the news channels aren't closely monitoring developments over there. This is one of those moments where tension rises and there is an increased threat of something awful happening.

SEOUL, South Korea (AP) - North Korea has ordered its people to raise the country's flag and tune in for a message on state-run television Sunday amid apparent indications that the communist nation may have fueled a long-range missile in preparations for a launch, news reports said.
North Koreans have been told to raise the national flag at 2 p.m. (0500 GMT) and watch a state message on television in the late afternoon Sunday, Japan's conservative daily Sankei reported, citing unnamed Japanese government officials.
