N. Koreans Ordered To Raise Their Flag At 2PM, and Listen to Broadcast

N. Korean leadership ordered its citizen to raise their flag and listen to their (government) communique from TV in the evening, according to Sankei Shimbun (of Japan), quoting Japanese government sources.

The paper said it is paying attention this development because it could be related to the launch of Taepodong-2.

So they're launching it because of the time difference? Hoping most of the country would be in bed and caught off guard?

You know, today would be a great day to test the Airborne Laser.

But nobody listens to me....

Is there a Korean News agency that might carry a "breaking" report in English?

Don't tell them. They are still thinking "people kills" - which would only get the US mad.

EMP would merely produce more democrat "talking points" about why WE must disarm.

An EMP blast would leave democrat voters alive, and still destroy the economy that would lead to more democrat votes - which is what the democrats want anyway.

Why do we have to wait until a missle is launched? If the thing starts smoking we ought to put out the fire before liftoff.

International considerations, the opinion of the SK people, Respect for international blah, blah, blah...I think we should shoot it down with the sea-based platforms we have but the fallout if we fail (or if we succeed for that matter) might be too much for the admirals to bear. JMHO.

I'm sending up prayers right now.

Do you supposed this is why President Bush is at the ranch this weekend? Because he would be safer there in case of an attack?

TOKYO, Japan (AP) -- The United States and Japan urged North Korea not to proceed with reported plans to test-fire a long-range missile that could reach the U.S. mainland, saying Saturday that a launch would be dangerous and provocative.
