WASHINGTON // Gov. Robert L. Ehrlich Jr. fired one of his appointees to the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority yesterday after the board member asserted on a local cable talk show that homosexuals lived a life of "sexual deviancy." The termination came a few hours after Metro board member Robert J. Smith, an architect and unsuccessful Republican candidate for the General Assembly from Montgomery County, was publicly confronted by a transit board colleague. Board member Jim Graham, a District of Columbia councilman who is openly gay, called on Smith to disavow his remarks or resign during yesterday's regular meeting of the panel, which oversees Metro business.

asserted on a local cable talk show that homosexuals lived a life of "sexual deviancy."

Well, of course. How else would someone describe it?

It would be enough if they could settle for someone who has actually read the Constitution and comprehends the concept of freedom of speech....

Well, this looks like an easy law suit. All the guy needs to do is show up to court with a dictionary.

1 : to stray especially from a standard, principle, or topic 2 : to depart from an established course or norm

Even homosexuals admit that they are in the minority in society...hence by definition they are deviating from what is standard in society...and one can make that point without applying any sort of value judgment at all. Of course it's irrational to expect a liberal to comprehend the obvious.

From the Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary:

Deviate

1 : to stray especially from a standard, principle, or topic
2 : to depart from an established course or norm

Diviant

One that differs from a norm, especially a person whose behavior and attitudes differ from accepted social standards.

Accurate description of a person/action now makes you guilty of dicrimination in MD? Time to head south. I've always liked parts of NC and SC. Any real estate agents here?

As an American citzen he was free to say what he wanted. As a political appointee Ehrlich was free to fire him.

So now somebody gets fired for telling the truth?

Hey, the homosexual lifestyle is no different than heterosexuals -- those heterosexuals, that is, who engage in anonymous anal and oral sex with multiple partners they meet in public restrooms and bath houses.

Did I mention gerbils?

All cities are run by Democrats sucking off federal money and handing it out in big wads of cash to their special interest groups.

Like little kingdoms of the insane.

Election year politics, unfortunately.

Afterall DC attracts the liberal buttholes, and a lot of them settle in the Maryland suburbs.
