Still crazy after all these years...(and not in a good Paul Simon way, either).
By the end of the article I have expected old Jacques to tell us Dan's fly was open and he had snot on his jacket.

"Moving Ahead, Rather Throws Sad Look Back"Doesn't seem that leaving CBS and going to some unwatched HD show is 'moving ahead'. But that's just me, I guess.

Such a sad article.
Why am I smiling ear to ear?
You've done your damage, Dan. Now slink back in to the shadows and STFU.

Dan's fly was open and he had snot on his jacket...about him... clung the putrid stench of a recent, self-fouling.

Must be really sad to realize after a whole life's work trying to "change the world", that he had the words "Kick Me" taped to his back.

Kinda says it all ...
Among the places he had sought solace, he said on a recent afternoon, was in "Good Night, and Good Luck," George Clooney's homage to Edward R. Murrow and the CBS News of old, a film that Mr. Rather said he had seen five times in theaters, most recently alone.
Courage, Dan. Courage. LOL

Why, after all these decades, is the aging Rather still clinging to the drapes?.
Is he broke? Has he no family? I never hear about a wife or children or any family life surrounding him. Has he no life other than sitting in TV news studios?
What a single-faceted humanoid. He's beginning to creep me out.

I used to joke about Rather winding up on Community Access Television, doing local restaurant reviews and interviewing the head of the Garden Club. I didn't think it would actually happen!!

Howlin, every single one of these memos to file is in a proportionally spaced font, probably Palatino or Times New Roman.
In 1972 people used typewriters for this sort of thing, and typewriters used monospaced fonts.
The use of proportionally spaced fonts did not come into common use for office memos until the introduction of laser printers, word processing software, and personal computers. They were not widespread until the mid to late 90's. Before then, you needed typesetting equipment, and that wasn't used for personal memos to file. Even the Wang systems that were dominant in the mid 80's used monospaced fonts.
I am saying these documents are forgeries, run through a copier for 15 generations to make them look old.
This should be pursued aggressively.

Hope all the uber-liberal-biased agenda-driven MSM news people see just exactly what is in store for them in their twilight years of careers built on "Shaping" the news.
Bottom line- respect and credibility are earned--not propagandized by low viewership TV networks and fish wrap tree-destroying print.
One can also see it in the widespread "fame of and appreciation for" other liberals (meaning a fawning public incredibly spanning a few blocks of the upper East Side of Manhattan) such as the Johnny Apples, Clymers and Keith Olbermanns etc. of the world.
