As some so often claim, the President isn't running for re-election. Congressmen and Senators are.

Then they should refuse the money. That is the only principled thing to do. They won't though.

They're politicians. What do you expect?

If they feel they have to distance themselves from the man then they should do it financially as well or STFU criticizing him in public.

He's the President, not a king. Members of Congress are sent to DC to represent their constituents, not rubber-stamp the executive.

Then they should do it with their own fund raising. If it hadn't been for Bush a lot of them wouldn't even be in office. They rode his popularity in 2002 to increase the majority in the House and to re-gain the Senate. They then rode his coat tails in 2004 and increased their seats again. They are now turning on him when he needs them while using him to raise funds for their treachery.

Like I said. They're politicians. So is the President, for that matter.

No if Bush was just a politician he would be setting a time table in Iraq, he would be shooting illegal aliens at the border. His poll numbers would be in the 60's instead of high 30's. Bush is the only elected official in DC that is actually standing by his principles.

None of those things are inconsistent with being a politician.

"Bush is the only elected official in DC that is actually standing by his principles."

Big claims, there.

What are those principles, if I might ask?

His belief that we have to win in Iraq, and his belief that illegal aliens should be given a chance at citizenship. Those are positions he has held all along. He is now suffering in the polls because of both stances and a "politician" would relent to public pressure.

So, at least one of those strongly held beliefs (the last one in your list) is in direct conflict with his oath, the US Constitution, and the best interests of the people of the United States. Got it.

Baloney. If his stance on immigration is a violation of that oath the every president in history has violated their oaths. Give me a break.

"Baloney."

Art 2 Sec 3 says "he shall take Care that the Laws be faithfully executed". Not "may". Not "if he likes them". His sworn duty is to enforce the laws of this nation to the best of his ability.

This is NOT being done.

"But the other guys did it too" is no defense. I'd like a President to put *Americans* first, for a change. I'm tired of paying for his compassion for foreign nationals - whether Mexican, Muslim, or Palestinian or any combination thereof - every April 15th. Conservative patience with Republicans over issues like this is wearing VERY thin.

As I said, you would have to indict all previous presidents on the same charges.

Fine with me. He's the guy in charge now. The buck stops with him.

Then find another party; we're running this one right now.

Then leave the party or stop whining all the time. You purists are not going to have your way, ever. You didn't in 1996 and your master stomped his feet and left the party. Maybe you should follow suit.

My "master"? What on earth are you talking about?

Such disrespect for the Constitution AND the Party Platform from you people....

Which law isn't being executed? Spell it out. I hear this accusation again and again, but no one ever details what law is not being executed.

Is it the one where illegals are guaranteed a court hearing before deportation, and can't be held? I think that is being followed.

Is it the law that says that employers only have to show "good faith" in order to avoid charges of intentionally hiring illegals? I think that is being followed as well.

So tell me, exactly what laws are not being enforced by the President? Please be specific.
