I honest to God believe that if the Pence bill hit GW's desk he would sign it in a heat beat. If he didn't then I would have to re-think whether GW was just being hard headed instead of principled.

Not exactly the 'founder of the GOP'. He was a 2nd tier player in the 1856 convention that nominated Fremont and Dayton. He was one of 15 names informally put forward for the vice presidency.

he would be shooting illegal aliens at the border.

As hyperbole that's gotten pretty stale. The koolaid drinkers need to write some new material. He could always try enforcing the law, since he took an oath of office to that effect. Or did he think emulating Clinton's indifference to the law is the way to operate?

Or maybe he was following Reagan's example? As to shooting illegas, that is not hyperbole more than a few on this board would line up for the chance. Now do you want to continue? I have nothing better to do right now.

I suppose you would shoot illegals- but then anything, no matter how extreme, to discredit border control would benefit your cause.

You brought up shooting illegals. I'm not surprised you now want to disavow it. The tactic may work better for you in the future if you let more than a couple of minutes elapse.

I heard on the radio coming home last night that he raised $800,00 for the Republican Party and Congressman Dave Reichert (my congresscritter - he replaced Jennifer Dunn when she retired) while he was here in Seattle a couple of hours yesterday. While the fund-raiser was at a private home in Medina (next to Bellevue on the eastside of Lake Washington)and there are some of us conservatives in the Burbs, the Peoples Republic of Seattle is left-leaning, so, IMHO that was a pretty good show.

No, Reagan had a GOP senate for 4 years and a working majority in Congress with the Blue dog democrats.

Actually Reagan had a Republican Senate for his first 6 years as President. Your point is well made though.

I really liked your post at 27 also.

Reagan had the Senate for 6 years and a working majority in the House for his entire 2 terms.

Ooops, I see you already corrected yourself.

LOL. Yeah I was confusing Bush with Reagan. Bush has only had a GOP senate for 4 years of his present 6.

To: Howlin

I am so glad to see you back and posting again. I hope you and your family are doing better after your loss.

Howlin, I've been on FR for a little while now, and IMHO, WFBFan gets an 8 on style on my 1 is low, 10 is high, FR Troll-o-meter, and I'd have to say at most a 2 on substance, a 9 on disruption, and at least 8.5 on thread highjacking.

From WFBFan's first post on this thread, it went PERMANENTLY OFF TOPIC, and turned into the "WFBFan the Senator Interactor, ( and after reading EVERY single one of WFBFan's posts) and Senator golfing partner vs. Jim Rob's "Do nothing substantial "activism"-wise, but type and post on the Internet" Freeper "team".

Howlin, I have made it a point to try and be pretty dog-gone civil in what I post here on FR. I come on FR to "learn", discuss topic threads that interest me, in the most civil FR manner I can. I can think of maybe 4 times since I have been a Freeper, that I just couldn't take any more from a "newbie", and had to post a reply.

This thread was ONE of those FOUR times. WFBFan surpassed my 8 year total of FOUR times in less than 100 posts in JUST ONE THREAD, and GOT A FREEPER BANNED FOR THREE DAYS!!!!

WFBFan's post to YOU, post # 47, about "Activism"(Yours=Howlin's) on an Internet forum, doesn't make one particularly important."

THAT DID IT !!! WFBFan had already insulted Miss Marple, would NOT answer her post, nor hardly anyone elses who had asked for some kind, or ANY FACTS that could back up his (or her, or better yet, IT'S) "opinions posted as HARD FACTS, Unless WFBFan thought there was "maybe" a "fact" to be hard to refute, had every Freeper who was engaging WFBFAn in TOTAL shock when Freeper COEXERJ145 BANNED for 3 days for virtually implying WFBFan was a "newbie".

I had to jump in to save Howlin's FR honor, which had been put into serious question by a 12 day old FR "newbie".

My reply to the "I actually interact( and play golf, which was a comment posted VERY early in WBFan's FR posting "career") with MY Senators( which WFBFan is the only person I have ever met who seems to "OWN" US Senators....own dogs or "kitties", but the first Freeper who "owns their very own real live Senator")

Here's the line from WFBFan's #56 post:

"I'm a registered Republican who actually interacts with my Senators and has even lobbied directly."

Here was my post to "save Howlin's AND FR'S "honor" by his, "all YOU PEOPLE....( tha wa the Newbie Troll Disruptor BUZZWORD that did it for me)

To: WFBFan; All

"Activism" on an Internet forum doesn't make one particularly important."

Well NOW I smell ozone !!!!

You need to ask the now-unemployed Dan Rather what he thinks about your "opinion" on how :"Activism" on an Internet forum doesn't make one particulary "important".

Buh-Bye and hope you enjoyed your brief time off from DU.

Again, WFB Fan NEVER REPLIED TO MY POST ABOUT "Dan Rather", which TOTALLY made his point about FR posting isn't doing anything remotely considered "activism", I'm the great WFBFan, I play GOLF with MY Senators"

I'm still waiting for WFBFan's reply about Dan Rather. He did me like he did every other Freeper who pressed for facts to back up his "holier-than-thou " posts, to us mere FR internent posting folks.

IMHO, THIS thread should be the FIRST thread in the "How to Recognize, and Deal With A Troll on FR Sandbox"

I concur. Yet, COEXER145 was suspended for questioning what was one of the most troll-like series of postings ever seen here. Go figure.

If the Pence bill could pass the Senate, I concur the President would sign it.

That's why I get angry when these blasting Bush-haters of the Right scream that McCain-Kennedy is Bush's bill.

NO, IT IS NOT!!!

He wanted a bill to make it through the Senate, as a vehicle to compromise with the House. Some of it is like his own ideas, but other parts are way way out there in another stratosphere that I don't think Bush could have imagined would be put in such a flawed piece of legislation.

But dare to call these anti-Bush blasters on anything, and you (along with our President) will get totally, totally clobbered until you just leave the thread in utter disgust.

Well, not you, Texasforever, but some of us have weaker stomachs and leave before we throw up at the river of bile and bilge gushing forth.
