TexanToTheCore: "Well, we now have an aristocracy."

From the United States Constitution: " They [ Representatives and Senators] shall in all Cases, except Treason, Felony and Breach of the Peace, be privileged from Arrest during their Attendance at the Session of their respective Houses, and in going to and returning from the same; "

This clause protects all of us from having our representatives excluded from the legislative process for minor reasons.

Neither the President, nor the Supreme Court, nor the Congress itself has the power to change this. Any police forces created by legislation to protect Congress are still bound by this clause.

Also from the US Constitution: " Each House may determine the Rules of its Proceedings, punish its Members for disorderly Behavior, and, with the Concurrence of two-thirds, expel a Member."

Any consequences arising from her behavior are subject to full accountability by the House.
