First, this freeper would like to thank you for your service, both abroad and on FR!! I enjoy reading your very insightful, first hand reports and posts.

IMHO, you probably won't be seeing too many of the "Iraq = quagmire, so-let's-cut-and-run" bunch, unless they want to post the "unconfirmed documents" arguement.

The only one's with open hearts ,eye's and minds are true Conservatives here on Freep and other Conservative sites. I heard on CBS radio news that Iraq southern area will soon be taken over completely by Iraqi troops and police so that the British and Japanese forces can move elsewhere for further support elsewhere. Have you?

One of my favorite ones from this year was a Freeper who responded to one of my posts where I was refuting the media's lies with something like:

"You obviously have never been to the Middle East or you would know that democracy in an Islamic country simply cannot be achieved."

I laughed so hard at that one that I had tears rolling down my cheeks.

Then there was the one last year who told me my "vision is skewed" because I'm in Iraq. You know, as opposed to getting that real good, solid information off the nightly news on TV and all. I had a good laugh off of that one as well.

I haven't heard anything substantial on that, but there could actually be some truth there. (Hey, even a stopped clock is right twice a day.)

The Iraqi troops are taking over more and more of their defense responsibilities (which is good news, since they were trained by the U.S. and it means an objective is being achieved, but I'm sure See-Bee-Ess doesn't quite present it that way) and more coalition troop strength is required in areas like Baghdad and Ramadi where they've got big operations underway to get these areas cleaned out and under control.
