It's not time for us to relax or let up (contra al-Murtha), but it does appear that great progress continues to be made since the happy death of al-Zarqawi.

"452 raids carried out since Zarqawi's killing on 7 June had resulted in the deaths of 104 insurgents, the capture of 759 "anti-Iraqi elements" and the discovery of 28 arms caches. "That's got to hurt. Plus many of the additional raids are probably yielding additional info.
In the last week alone, we've killed or captured 863 insurgents. or more than a third of the 2500 total US deaths during this war.

On John Batchelor's show he had the Fox News intel guy and he said that they captured a thumb drive on Zarqawi's person. It was the mother lode.

Even as the number of US soldiers killed in Iraq reached 2,500, the military was trumpeting the success of its pursuit of al-Qaeda... Hmm, no bias in this little turd of a sentence. I note that the article ends with the clear implication that Zarqawi was playing the U.S. like a puppet with respect to the Iranian nuclear situation.
No matter. The facts of the article speak for themselves. And Zarky ain't comin' back.

but I thought there were no al Quada operatives in Iraq...
And I thought the death of this guy would put the US military on the ropes...
Are you saying the media gets it wrong?

One of its suggestions for redressing the balance was to encourage hostility between the US and IranWho'd a thought zarky and I agree on something. Can we start bombing Iran tomorrow? Actually Zarky didn't think this one through. Lets see if we bomb Iran it would halt their nuclear production and we could capture many Al Queda they have been harboring since 9/11 like Bin Laden's son and heir apparent. Plus we get the added bonus of Iran sending less bombs and "insurgents" into Iraq. Sounds like a great scenario for us.
If it wasn't for the liberal news media trying to lose the propoganda war for us that is.....

Al Qaeda is like the Democrats.... where's the doom and gloom today? Be The Worst You Can Be. No wonder they're having reverses and setbacks in Iraq. Its a nightmare and now Zarqawi is dead too boot. This wasn't the way they imagined things progressing - the last American is not going to depart from Iraq via the last helicopter from a Baghdad rooftop. Oh the horror!

Al Qaeda facing destruction??? Oh no, there might not be time for the DNC to find another candidate to back before we wipe out the last jihadist. They will end up like back in NJ when Torricelli was stuck on the ticket for that whole weekend before they could violation the state constitution and replace him on the ballot.
