Crisis management experts are calling for the creation of a "United Nations army"-an international rapid reaction force that could be deployed within 48 hours to intervene in emergency situations around the globe.
Composed of up to 15,000 military, police and civilian staff, including medics, the proposed force would be recruited from professionals hired by the U.N. from many countries, and based at designated U.N. sites.

"This will be a total waste of our resources which are needed for our own military..." I only wish this were the worst concern we had... this is far, far more serious than just a waste of resources...

That is my line in the sand. The day I see blue helmets in my country is the day the 2nd Amendment becomes exercisable.

Aren't they mutually exclusive, the UN and a UN Army. Which is it, are they going to rule the world through negotiations, debates and politics or are they going to kill people with evil armed soldiers.
Sounds like they're admitting their own ineffectiveness.

It's time to use the Supreme Court's "imminent domain" law to reclaim the land now occupied by the UN.

Sounds like a Hillary Klinton idea.

I think that your attitude is nearly universal around FR, especially, but not limited to the vets. Some of us may be gray haired, a little slow on the four mile runs and don't burst from cover the way we used to, but still have that squeeeeze down pat.
To the UN I say "You want my guns? Come take them!"

I should have said "one of my lines in the sand" but like you said, we're birds of a feather here on FR. Stay strong and have a good weekend.

actually, a friend of mine (a retired Swiss COL) from SZ says that FDR promised the Swiss that the UN would be HQed in SZ if the Swiss would build the buildings. they DID & then Truman chose to have them in NYC.
Heinrich says the Swiss have NOT forgotten this slight on their national pride and the $$$$$$$$$$$ they spent on the facilities.
i propose that we ship the UN to them, lock/stock/barrel, and then "forget" to send anyone/$$$$$$$ to the UN.

BIG mistake, Harry! If you are still in purgatory, I propose to St. Peter that he have you write "Mea Culpa" on the blackboard a hundred times.

YEP. typical of DIMocRATS, "Harry, the Junior Senator from the Machine State of Pendergast", was too busy trying to "manage everyone else's business", rather than tending to the real needs of the USA.
