We'd take away the "it was the wrong war at the wrong time" if the administration would stand by it's previous assertions that Al Qaeda had a decade's long relationship with Iraq.
It's relatively easy to prove and the media seems to have forgotten that they (including Newsweek and the NYT) wrote dozens of articles in the 90's about the world's alarm at the growing relationship between Saddam and Osama bin Laden and Al Qaeda.

The fact that Bremer is speaking out is evidence that he sees the handwriting on the wall. Otherwise, better for him just to lay low.
