Democrats believe that 2006 must be a year of significant transition in Iraq," says Democrat Party leader Howard Dean. On Thursday, Democrats will have a chance to say exactly what that means to them, when the U.S. House of Representatives begins debating another war resolution.
This resolution, introduced by Rep. Henry Hyde (R-Ill.), praises U.S. troops and rejects an "arbitrary date" for withdrawing them from Iraq, the Washington Post reported.
According to the Washington Times, the resolution declares that the United States is "committed to the completion of the mission to create a sovereign, free, secure and united Iraq."
House Majority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) said the resolution will give lawmakers the opportunity to debate their commitment to combating terrorism.

Howard, you go girl!
The one problem I see here...
The Democrats call for a withdrawel of troops... OK.. we ignore them.
Eventually, following our own plan, we begin to withdraw troops and what do the Democrats say?? "We made them do it".
We need to have a resolution that tells the White House to keep troops in until it is appropriate to reduce troop counts in Iraq, and then withdraw according to a reasonable plan.
In other words, DOCUMENT that the withdrawel will take place on a WH deemed timetable.
All Democrats do is complain, complain, complain. I don't know how anyone can be a member of that party and not kill themselves.
Someone needs to write a book after the Iraq War about all the inconsistent positions these idiots have taken during this conflict. One day it's "We don't have enough troops over there," and the next day it's "Start sending the troops home!"
Bottom line - Democrats don't speak for "the troops." These folks are all VOLUNTEERS. Nearly everyone of them supports the cause for which they are fighting. So, Howard Dean, shut the heck up. The troops hate your guts.
Who would like to help me in hosting a "Code Red" for "Howard the Dork?"
