As detailed in the transcript, and in this post, I think my recollection and observation is proven accurate. Well, on the contrary, I think Leno gave Coulter the opportunity to explain what happened, gave her the opportunity to read the quote, and made the comment, "It seems harsh."
Sounds like a pretty fair way to presenting the controversy, giving her an opportunity to explain her point. He then asked if she regretted it.
Please point out how this exchange was "a trap"...

Leno should have been very well aware that Ann was referring to four individuals in particular.
He took pains to evade that distinction.
Admittedly, he did give her the opportunity to correct the misimpression, and she did not. One can only fault Ann for that, whether she was nervous or just not listening carefully.
But Leno is the professional interviewer here. Had she been anti-Bush, he would probably have been more cautious for her sake.
He also tried to bring her over to the dark side by appealing to her victim status. She rejected that ploy.
To Ann's further credit, I appreciate her dripping-with-icicles "No" when he asked if she had ever slept with a Liberal.

If I wanted to attract people, you know, I'd wear sexy dresses, grow my hair long. LOL! My favorite line.

Woo Hoo!The "after action" PHOTO thread just passed 10,000 "thread views!"
.
CLICK HERE to visit the AMAZING "Ann Coulter on the Tonight Show" after action PHOTO thread. It really isn't that LONG -- yet -- so you can still read through the WHOLE THING rather QUICKLY.I re-sized most of the MARVELOUS (new!) photos of Ann posted there, so that it loads MUCH FASTER for (those folks on dial-up connections) than it did YESTEDAY. :o)

I REFUSE to watch or listen to G Carlin. I used to be a huge fan of his. Then I found out he used a lot of illegal drugs. I don't approve. Then he did a bit where he made fun of children with learning disabilities. He called them STUPID. Never listened to him again.

DO NOT PROMOTE THE SELF SERVING MICHAEL SMERCONISH, HE IS NO CONSERVATIVE.
Smerconish is a GOOD and LONGTERM friend of ARLEN SPECTER, who went to Cuba with Arlen and a large contingent of others on the government dime. On the most narcissistic and self-centered radio program on the air today (his own), upon returning, HE BRAGGED ABOUT HAVING DINNER AND AN AFTER DINNER CIGAR WITH FIDEL CASTRO.
Smerconish is an overbearing, obnoxious CASH COW who is so desirous of wealth and celebrity, he will PRETEND to be a conservative and support conservatism. He is not one of us. He cares about what's in it for himself alone.

Agreed. I have NEVER liked George Carlin or thought him to be funny, even in highschool when he was the favorite of one of my best friends.
