Just for the sake of history:

When Woody Guthrie talked about killing fascists, he meant capital-F Fascists in the 1940's sense of the word, which was coined by Mussolini. Guthrie volunteered for WWII even though he was in his thirties and raising children.

The irony of it is, if Guthrie was alive today and saw America and the political landscape, he would have to conclude that the liberals are the fascists here, and that silly Scottish babe doesn't even realize that, and has it on her guitar as a way of railing against American social and fiscal conservativism. Poor dumb little entertainer girl. She doesn't even understand the real message she puts on her instrument or the history behind it.

I know. I read about him some time ago. He died tragically of Huntington's Disease. Horrible way to go. He was still a commie, though. :D~
