That was an interesting thread, Randall, but I will take issue with this: Until President Bush comes out and says, "There were never any WMDs in Iraq. Never have been, never will be," my theory will stand. The President will never say something so untrue as 'never were, never have been' because the use of WMD against Kurds would make it a big lie and THIS President isn't a degenrate clinton.

They have been permitted to lie without challenge by Congressional Republicans or the President or his administration.

I suspect there is little political benefit in arguing if we should have liberated Iraq now. The media and the rats think they can win points with it, but the administration clearly thinks the rats are shooting themselves in the foot. Perhaps the administration thinks a vigorous defense of policy is better timed closer to the elections.

In my town, by the way, we have one newspaper with no big cities near us. The editor is as left as one can go without being committed. The first amendment does not apply in this town. I would love to see someway of getting around these roadblocks. Another time.
