Is Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg weighing a run for president? The answer, depending on where you are these days, could seem to be "maybe."
Just about everywhere he goes, Mr. Bloomberg fields a question or two about whether he is interested in a run for the White House. His answer is generally no. Sparring with the New York press corps, Mr. Bloomberg has issued flat denials, tending toward some version of "What part of no don't you understand?"
But on Sunday night at a cozier event where apparently just one reporter was present, Mr. Bloomberg appeared to flirt with the idea. The setting was a $1,000-a-plate fund-raiser at the Greenwich home of Stuart Weitzman, a shoe designer; the beneficiary was Representative Christopher Shays, a moderate Republican from Connecticut.
Asked if he was contemplating a bid, Mr. Bloomberg said, "Absolutely not," according to an article yesterday in The Hour, a newspaper based in Norwalk. Then he added, "And anybody who's running will say exactly that."
According to the article, Mr. Bloomberg waxed prolific about a possible run, offering his views on the challenges of mounting a bid, saying that he is too liberal for conservatives and too conservative for liberals, and how daunting an independent campaign would be. For which party...?
Which party?
It's a dead heat!!!!
Look at the times...
I'm thinking about throwing my hat into the ring too. I'm starting to update my profile here with my platform. To balance the ticket, maybe I'll select a Freeper from Texas as a running-mate.
Perhaps you were listed first since you're upside down...(?)
Who would be worse? McCain or Bumberg?
Ya got my vote...
i read that this buffoon would run as an independent because he sure as he!! would never get the Republican nomination
bumberg is left of moveon.org
"According to the article, Mr. Bloomberg waxed prolific about a possible run"
He's waxed out if he thinks he will get the nod.
No RINO's allowed.
Well they finally found a "republican" that would make me vote for Hillary.
Even if he had a shot at getting nominated, he'd never win a general election. His speaking voice sounds too gay.
Cheers and Jeers (Democrats booing Hillary Clinton on video!)
FReepmail me if you want on or off my New York ping list.
He could just about run as a Moonbat!
Yikes. Bloomberg puts the INO in RINO.
He could just about run as a Moonbat!
I only read the headline! Talk about "delusions of grandeur!" Where's his Meffa H.S. yearbook anysways?
