I do not eat much cheese but if I do it is Stilton or cheddar both of which are high in calories, do not like the milk smoked stuff that much.

I am not that physically active which is part of the problem plus also I have taken to sitting whilst freeping and eating chocolate or crisps and have 4 or 5 biscuits with a cup of tea a couple of times a day.

I need to loose about 40lbs which I hope to do by Christmas and then I need to go easy or I will pile a lot of it back on.

For me a calorie controlled diet is best rather than something like Atkins or South Beach because I like a variety of foods and the occasional treat. Before when I have dieted I have been very careful Monday - Saturday and then eat more or less normally on a Sunday. Seems to work for me so I will try this for a month or so to see how I get on and then I might try a modified F Plan diet.

My other problem is that I am only 5'2" so I cannot carry the weight very well.

I have been on a modified Fit for LIfe DIet for about 10 years. It is not to lose weight(but often that is the end result). It is an energy management diet. You can prolly get the book at the library. worth reading etc. It made a lot of sense to me & when I went on it, was amazed wtih the results. (lots more energy, slept better, etc)

I am now investigating both the macrobiotic & the Mediterranean diet.

I am NOT Into south beach, Atkins, weight watchers either. Never made sense to me.

I am fortunate to be tall. My 40 extra pounds was surely noticeable but I did have the height to carry it somewhat.

good luck.
