The flier put out by Jim Webb's campaign for U.S. Senate described his opponent as a corporate lobbyist who made money by sending American jobs overseas.
But what caught Dan Smolen's attention was the cartoon that accompanied the text: That of a man with a hook nose and money spilling from his pockets.
It was a caricature of Harris Miller, Webb's opponent in Tuesday's Democratic primary who happens to be Jewish.
The image made Smolen, who is Jewish and Stafford County's Democratic chairman, uncomfortable.
"I don't think whoever did the cartoon caricature meant this as an ethnic slur," he said, "but the effect of it was very troubling."

So, describing a hook-nosed person as "hook-nosed" is somehow a racial slur???
SOMEbody needs to get a little bit thicker skin!

Caricatures are never flattering. I could find a caricature of Elvis Presley with a hook nose, too.
It does sound like it's getting nasty, though.

I saw Webb's response to this on TV. Says it's not anti-Semitic in his opinion. So it looks like he stands by it.

Oh, for Ghu's sake, here's what the man actually looks like:

(Full Article link to verify identification.)
This accusation that an accurate (both physically and politically) caricature represents "an anti-Semitic stereotype" is dirty pool even by 'Rat standards.

The problem with people getting offended is that the caricature looks almost exactly like the guy.
The reporters are writing this story like they made this guy look like the Jews in posters the Nazi's used. (where the drawings really were offensive. )
