Several celebrities have spent time at the farm in a show of solidarity with the farmers in recent weeks.

You would think that if this idea is so precious to "several clebrities" that they would pool some of their own money and buy it from the owner, and then THEY could let the squatters (sorry, "urban farmers") work the land. That would be much more impressive than "sitting in a tree to show solidarity."
