No, and we weren't fighting against every German during WWII, but we didn't let that get in the way of the total effort to win the war, and we certainly didn't build shrines to Germany in the hopes of not offending the Germans either.

As distasteful as this event is to most of us here on FR, we have to realize this war must be waged on more than one front, and as namby pamby as it sounds, winning hearts and minds has to be a part of it to prevent future generations from taking up arms against us.
