The libs aren't going to let this alone. Can they appeal to the California Supreme Court?

They can appeal but I bet they probably won't. An identical law was overturned for the same reason in 1982... and several of the city supervisors backed off the thing before it was even put on the ballot.

Well, there is always an appeal to the state appellate court. After that, one can petition to the California supreme court, but few petitions are granted for hearing, very few (it is a matter of discretion), and I doubt this will be one that would be granted, although it might, and even if it were, the right wingers are a majority on the California Supreme court. It would be more likely to be granted by the way if the appellate court reversed the state trial court.

"banning residents from owning handguns violated state law"U.S. Constitution Bill of Rights
Amendment II
A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.
Am I missing something here?

would have outlawed possession of handguns by all city residents except law enforcement officers and others who needed the guns for professional purposesProfessional purposes? Like being a career criminal?

So much for government by the people. I know that some are excited that the "special interests" won one. A well regulated militia is not necessary in San Francisco, nor any place that is inhabited and civilized.
To: uptoolate
Yeah, you really are. Probably the text from the 2nd Amendment that you didn't underline.......
A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state...
To: FRONTLINER
Damm right on that one! The certainly do great work!
