Conservative sweetheart Ann Coulter, a take-no-prisoners commentator whose latest book, Godless: The Church of Liberalism, takes a shot at four high-profile widows of 9/11, has the Left panting breathlessly for her head. Hillary calls her vicious. New Yorks governor, moderate Republican George E. Pataki, skewers her as far worse than insensitive. (Lets see. Insensitive is 10 years in the slammer. The penalty for far worse than has got to be indeterminate hard time at Gitmo.) Commentator Leonard Pitts Jr. reviles her as mean, malicious, the barbed-wire front woman for a cabal of bloviators, bully boys and blowhards
But wait. Before the hanging, consider this: We have become a nation of people who love to be victims. It gives them a status to claim something of value whether that is financial compensation, movement to the head of the line, or authority and attention. Cindy Sheehan, the so-called peace mom is a perfect example of how an individual who has suffered terrible tragedy in her life the loss of a son in Iraq becomes a pawn. In her case, a pawn of the anti-war Left. Her loss gives them access to the media, and it gives her anti-war message an authority that the media accepts without feeling any obligation to provide balance.
That moral authority conveyed by an individuals loss, or an ancestors suffering, has come to extend to issues far beyond their areas of expertise. Weve gotten to the point where the next-of-kin of somebody killed in a traffic accident on the downtown expressway is accepted as an instant authority on freeway design and construction, transportation priorities, traffic congestion, auto design and whether Detroits auto workers are paid too much or too little. Thats Cindy Sheehan. Thats some of the 9/11 families.

I, too, pant breathlessly for her head.
Only her head?
Nothing more?
Any 911 widow who uses her husband's death to make partisan points deserves what she gets.
Hanging her is a very bad idea. Her head would be in the noose up in the rafters, but her feet would still be flat on the floor.
One thing I would point out: it seems whenever someone from the left makes an outrageous statement, many in the media and otherwise are oh-so-careful to say "well, of course she he (or she) has a right to make those statements" before mentioning any criticism. Has anyone heard Coulter's critics doing that? I doubt it.
I think I'll go and disambiguate somewhere else for a while.
The paper I used to take ran Leonard Pitts' column. The man is truly a stupid, whining, race-baiting professional RAT. Naturally, he won the affirmative-action Pulitzer Prize.
AJC= liberal bird cage liner.
" Has anyone heard Coulter's critics doing that? I doubt it."
Nope.
At least not that I heard of.
Well, why not.
There's no question she has the right, so why even bother going into it? I for one can't recall too many articles saying that about Mikey Moore, so maybe we're just being overly sensitive.
could be!
I thought that was "breathe pantlessly".
I checked and you can post a comment just by using a name/email address, you don't have to register. I posted a comment under my FR name, so feel free to go slap a few RATS around
thanks :)

JIm Wooten is the only good thing the AJC has going for itself.
Wooten Must be being DUmped on. The distinct odor of fire and brimstone from the Free Speech and Diversity hypocrites.
Pitts has the proper last name for what I consider his musings to be. I think as you that he is a race-baiter and a sniveling coward to boot! IOW, he sucks!
