Four times? Through a window? Hhmmmm... Having a hard time seeing how that could happen. Even a full auto wouldn't be able to stitch four rounds into the target unless you were point blank. Muzzle climb would have a tendancy to throw things off a bit. Unless the perp did a mag dump and only 4 rounds hit the judge while he was moving/falling...

This sounds more like an inside the courthouse type shooting. Up close with a pistol.

There are some quite accurate semi-autos that could do the job from range. The Garand and the M14 come to mind.

The only way I could see it happening would be if there was a sniper in much higher elevation, looking down into the window; the first round dropping the judge onto his back on the floor, leaving him visible through the window.
