RENO, Nev. (AP) A judge has been shot at a courthouse in Reno, a police spokesman says.
The police made the connection because "Mack's" case was filed under "S" for "screwed".
Wife and I were downdown about 4:45 and saw the bomb squad truck on Arlington and turning toward the court house. I guess somebody really didn't like Judge Weller.
Like I said before, his family has money and the boys grew up in a privileged environment. I knew his brother better, and he was kind of a goofy kid, but Darren was the jock-type that had everything given to him.
As to whether he would commit suicide...yeah, he's a rich kid on a rampage. He's already killed one and tried to kill another, so, as I said before, I wouldn't be surprised to hear that they find him dead at the summer house. Getting there is a different story; there's not too many places you can run in Reno--there's only two freeways - I80 and US395 - and they're pretty easy to watch (and you know they're watching them since they know what he's driving). That's the tough thing about living in a desert--it's easy to get lost, but tough to hide in.
Yeah, a bomb-sniffing dog alerted them to something in Weller's car. Must have been his lunch, 'cause I haven't heard anything else about it.
He must have really gone round the twist.
As annoying as it is to be taken to the cleaners, especially if you think the judge is in cahoots with the ex, you can get back on your feet, make some more money, find a much nicer spouse, etc.
I know several people (both male and female) who shook off very bad marriages (in one case severe physical abuse, in another absolute robbery of ALL the family assets), got their lives back together, and are doing well today.
But all the dead are dead alike. And prison ain't much better.
Dang!!!! Lots of angry people here in Reno!!!
A Google/Ask search reveals he set the record at Rno High for number of triples hit and that as an adult he made a number of appearances as a representative "small business" owner (e.g., the train project and the State Senate tax committee) --- so I guess he saw himself as pretty important.
I wonder if his ex was an old classmate of mine, too. I'm itching to hear who was murdered at the apartment complex.
Fos said he has a webpage happily married with three kids.....I couldn't find it
Fos=Fox
Haven't heard. Have the radio on and will post if I hear.

His wife looks young...real young!
Also here: http://www.palacejewelry.com/index.html
The site says they have stores in three states as well as the ebay business.
Palace Jewelry...I wonder if his family owned Palace Jewelery and Loan on Virginia Street...?
I just checked the AOL directory...There is a darrenroymack@aol.com
but he says " I'm off line". Anyone can however send him an IM or E-mail.
Thank you. See my post #287.
We are not so far apart as you might imagine.
One of the news witches on one of the NBC spin offs was talking to a lawyer there. What an idiot. She pretended like she had never heard of 'mens movement', or that every woman who charges abuse is abused, and that battered womans centers are neutral shelters. She was the ditz with the southern accent. Jerry Springer in female drag on prime time. Where do they find these losers.
My own stepfather (after my dad died) told me, "Life is not fair. When you understand that you are already one step ahead in the game."
At the time he said it, I thought he was being rather heartless and cruel. Now I know it was some of the best advice I ever got.
This sentence reads so much better with the comma....
....When you understand that, you are already one step ahead in the game."
Sorry, sometimes I type too fast.
It just is.
I think so, since he had connections with a pawn association...
