I was going to say...the judge is at the hospital right now, and we're not sure at this point whether the shooter hung around long enough to watch.

Oh yeah. I have a strong opinion on this. I'm surprised judges (and attornneys) aren't dropping like flies. There must be more men controlled by their Christian conviction than many would have us believe.
I sincerely believe this to be the case. OTOH, a dog can only be kicked so many times before he bites back.

That will teach them not to give the house, car, and all the assets to the wife.

A Family Court judge was shot Monday at the Washoe County courthouse complex in Reno. Judge Reno Police have confirmed the victim is Judge Chuck Weller. Weller was shot four times in the chest, according to Chief Judge Charles McGee.
Weller was taken to Washoe Medical Center, and was still alive when he arrived, shortly after 11AM.
A SWAT team is on the scene. Police have closed off several blocks around the courthouse just south of the Truckee River on the south end of Reno's downtown casino district.
The judge was shot in his chambers in Family Court section of the complex and the building was evacuated, Police Spokesperson Steve Frady told Newchannel 8.
Police do not know if the shots were fired inside the courthouse or if they came from outside. Police scanner traffic indicates officers also were searching parking garages in the area.

I can see it coming: a new law where you can't shoot lawyers or judges. More government in our face.

Judge Chuck Weller. He's family court and not popular with many. Lib or Conserv? I would peg him more Conserv. But he is a lawyer. He used to do a radio show prior to being elected. Shot four times in chambers was alive when he got to hospital.. Cops looking in 6 block radius. It would be very tough to get a weapon into this court house it is new and was built after 9/11.

I wouldn't be suprised if the second to last guy to post to that site gets a call asking about his where-abouts at the time of the shooting. He sounded totally destroyed, plus he's ex-military.

Four times? Through a window? Hhmmmm... Having a hard time seeing how that could happen. Even a full auto wouldn't be able to stitch four rounds into the target unless you were point blank. Muzzle climb would have a tendancy to throw things off a bit. Unless the perp did a mag dump and only 4 rounds hit the judge while he was moving/falling...
This sounds more like an inside the courthouse type shooting. Up close with a pistol.

Shot four times. Not a sniper. The first shot would have dropped him below the window sill.

Weller is a typical Family Court tyrant, a complete monster. Drove some poor dad off the deep end.

Only if the window was shut when he was shot!

He sounded totally destroyed, plus he's ex-military. That's scarcely unusual these days.

Drove some poor dad off the deep end. From the sounds of some of those posts on that one link, possibly more than one.
Also, on that other website Weller is listed as a Democrat up for re-election in 2010.

Yeah, but "they" want to ban "sniper rifles" (anything with a scope)...
