Additional comments on Drudge...

AN ESTIMATED 84,563 AMERICANS HAVE BEEN MURDERED SINCE 9-11...

I have been searching to find definative statistics on what percentage of these crimes are committed by repeat offenders.

It is my guess, that the expansion of liberal crime policies is to blaim for this circumstance, and not anything to do with a lack of gun control.

They claim the number of rapes is down, but still 95,000 is an extraordinary figure. Are all the 95,000+ rapists using a gun?

And an ever increasing number of criminals among the illegal aliens "deported" by Fox.

You can bet it is the liberal policies. Take for instance the judge that let the guy go because he was too short to go to jail. Now all short pedophiles will be out in force thinking they can skate if they get caught! Maybe a slight exageration but not by much. We know this guy will commit another sex crime. Parolees commit a large part of our felonies every year, and now we have the criminals, MS-13 for example, coming in from south of the border in larger numbers than ever before. Crime is up? Wow, who would have thought?

Houston's murder rate is up 23 percent. That's a dramatic and telling number.

Well when something useful to the elites is in short supply, they often choose to import it. ;)

Murders soared from 59 to 104 in Birmingham, Ala., up 76 percent; from 59 to 85 in Charlotte-Mecklenburg County, N.C., a 44 percent increase; from 89 to 126 in Kansas City, Mo., a 42 percent rise; from 87 to 122 in Milwaukee, a 40 percent jump; and from 79 to 109 in Cleveland, a 38 percent increase. I'm guessing the majority of these places are like MPLS:run by liberals and/or "santuary cities".

Let's talk about Colombia, South Africa, Mexico, and Russia, all of which have strict gun control and very high crime rates.

And let's talk about Switzerland, which has very little crime despite all those guns they have there. I guess they're not walking around and killing people on their own like Sarah Brady says they do.

17000 THOUSAND murders, in 2005, in the United States generates little interest by the MSM but 2400 GI deaths ( God Bless them )are what we get full time in the MSM.

War is terrible but we lost 3600 in New York and the United States must, and did, take a stand.

If clinton had taken a stand we would not have this problem.

How can the MSM walk away from 17000 murders most of which occur in the inner cities, among minorities. Don't they count?

I don't think it's entirely immigration. Also blame the revolving door.

Murders rose 4.8 percent, meaning there were more than 16,900 victims in 2005.

How many of these murders and rapes happened in Blue Cities with Blue Mayors, Blue City Councils, Blue Chief's of Police and the local media was dominated by left wing maggot infested mediots?

I thought it could all be attributed to Philadelphia. This city has been (become) such a mess the last few years. Some murders don't even get a mention on the local news anymore.

Very recently, just before his graduation, a kid from Penn State went home to North Philadelphia for one day. Stuck for his wallt and shot in the head. They caught the perp with the kids ATM card still on him.

I am disgusted with what this city has become. Many of you know that a few months ago, a girl was to testify at a murder trial. A small child was killed in a shootout. As she was preparing to take the stand, her dad said to her "Remember what I told you, don't say anything." (Stop Snitchin', nice effect they're having.) As response, Lynn Abraham, the Philadelphia DA is seeking 10-20 for the girls dad. I wish they could lock up the punks who shot the kid.

I just visited the FBI report and noticed that New Orleans data is missing from Table 4. Also missing from the preliminary report is the month by month data. It would be interesting to see if the increases in some of these cities drastically increased in the last four months of '05.

Crime's still down here, as it's been dropping every year since Sam became chief. As for Birmingham, that's a crime rate you can't explain with gun control, because there is no gun control in Alabama except for where you aim the gun. Birmingham though is a poor city, a black city and on top of that, a city where there is a large youth population lacking education. When rap is thrown into the mix, I think that pretty much explains the crime rise there. Couldn't really comment on the other cities, outside of Houston, where the reason for the rise in crime is plainly obvious.

"We see that budgets for policing are being slashed and the federal government has gotten out of that business," said James Alan Fox, a criminal justice professor at Northeastern University in Boston. "Funding for prevention at the federal level and many localities are down and the (National Rifle Association) has renewed strength."

So I guess this liberal winnie Prof is saying NRA members are committing these crimes? It has to be if he is trying to link an up tick in the crime rate to the NRA's "renewed strength."

A violent crime increase was actually predicted by a lot of prison officials. Basically, sentences for violent crimes like armed robbery or serious assault got longer in the early and mid-90's. People started getting sentenced under those laws, and were kept off the streets for a while. But as the first waves of these sentences draw to a close, we see the effects of letting violent convicts back out into society.

Part of the problem has to do with the lack of order or enforcement in American jails. Prisoners can form gangs, sell drugs, make connections on the "outside," and basically continue on in active roles in whichever gangs they are affiliated with. That simply shouldn't happen.

Lemme guess - libs will blame this on the AWB expiration, along with expanded CCW and self-defense laws.

A couple of weeks ago I heard a quote stating, "over 70% of murders are commited by people with a prior felony conviction." I don't remember the source.

I'd believe it. In just this past year alone there was a young woman left in a drainage ditch to die of exposure less than a mile from my house. Last summer we had Asian Gang Bangers come and shoot up our cow Town of 6,000 people. Memorial Day weekend had 28 shootings resulting in 4 deaths in Milwaukee. Madistan has a spike in violent robberies in the "chic" downtown area.

I'm armed and I'm not afraid to live my life, but if The Heartland is experiencing a spike in violent crimes I don't doubt that bigger cities are seeing a spike, too.
