Savage In, Randi Rhodes out in R.I.
North East Radio Watch ^ | 06/12/06 | Scott Fybush

A further update to the evening talk shuffling taking place in RHODE ISLAND: with Jay Severin replacing Sean Hannity in the 7-10 PM slot on WPRO (630 Providence), Hannity moves to the 10 PM-1 AM slot there. That displaces Michael Savage, who moves up the dial to Clear Channel's WHJJ (920 Providence), knocking ideological opposite Randi Rhodes and local host Geoff Charles off the late-night lineup.

WHJJ had been conservative talk; then they switch to Air America and their ratings plummeted. The program director came out and admitted that AAR was a flop, and cut Franken and Springer. Randi Rhodes was a leftover. Now she's gone in favor of the curator of the Political Zoo (moved over from WPRO 630 as they added Jay Severin). Buh bye Randi!

Those great folks at AAR are doing such a great job taking talk radio away from the conservatives....< /sarcasm off >

DeadAir America started at the bottom of the ratings chart, and have been losing ground ever since....It's only a matter of time that it either gets a grant from NPR or Soros pulls the plug....

That's a wonderful visual, isn't it?

Occationally I tune in to Rhodes to see just how far into delusional stupidity she has sunk.
This sick bitch is so bad. I have to believe that those who take her seriously should be in mental health facilities.

http://www.920whjj.com/pages/Schedule.html

From the radio-info messageboard: "What I find eternally puzzling, though, is why a state that ratings show loves conservative talkers consistently sends liberals (OK, RINOS) to The U.S. Senate. Could it be that, at some point in the past, from-out-of-state management at HJJ looked at election results as some sort of indication of what programming would get numbers???"

So, they thought Air America would succeed in Family Guy-land?
Wrong! And as for a state that keeps sending libs to the Senate...how about Mass.? (...and the House...)

Also: a poll on the WHJJ site:
Do you think Patrick Kennedy can effectively lead considering his dependency issues?

Yes 30%
No 70%

I can't wait to hear Air America's spokesman explain how this is all a part of their pre-planned roll out strategy, which is actually running ahead of schedule.

Yup! The WHJJ ratings were pitiful after they went to Air America...stations that get a 3.6 or 4.2 per cent of the audience plummet to 0.6, 0.4, or even 0.0!

And Air America will boast that they have a certain station as an affiliate if they carry just ONE show (like Frankenfraud).
Not the whole lineup, just one show!

Judging by their (Air America's) ratings, not many.

Technically, the heads of Air Amerikans would IMPLODE upon hearing Savage...it's the result of having a vacuum between their ears.

HAA!! THis should be a shock. Savage freaks conservatives out, he's so far right- I can only imagine how some northeastern, irrelevant lib is going to take this.

His "dependency issues" have been around for a long time. So why do they keep electing the bozo?

I haven't been terribly impressed with Savage, but it is nice to see hatemonger Rhodes booted.

Who are you impressed with then?

Savage covers all the bases, and is not beholden to anyone but himself.

Kind of like Coulter w/o the sex appeal.

I like Rush Limbaugh for political commentary on the radio. Brit Hume on the tube. I enjoy reading National Review and the Weekly Standard. On the 'net its Thomas Sowell...and his books, too.
