It was important that Günther Beckstein, Bavaria's interior minister from the conservative Christian Social Union party found the following words during the demonstration:
"We're clearly showing that Bavaria, Germany and the entire Western world stand firmly on the side of the state of Israel and its Jewish citizens,"
With statements he has made denying the Holocaust and the threats he has made against Israel, Ahmadinejad has demonstrated that he is not a part of the civilized world, the politician said. But he also stated that the protest was aimed directly at the Iranian president for his "intolerable verbal attacks" and not against the Iranian people.
I think there is nothing more to say.

By calling for the wiping of a country off the map (strongly implying the destruction of such a country), the iranian president has made a lot of people turn against him (on a BBC forum, which are sometimes very liberal a large amount of Western posters (judging by their usernames) were against iran getting nuclear weapons and technology, though a large amount of those of South West Asian descent were for iran getting nuclear technology and weaponry).

Jews Keeping Me from World Cup, says Ahmadinejad
Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said that his plans to attend the World Cup soccer tournament in Germany have been put on hold. The Iranian president had previously stated his intention to travel to Germany for the World Cup games that will take place there this summer. Iran is one of the 32 nations participating in the event.
It was my understanding that Germany had rid itself of Jews during the 1940s, said Ahmadinejad. Now, I hear that there were some survivors. If I go there is a chance that I will breathe air that has previously been inside a Jew. This is unacceptable. Unless Germany can assure me of pure air to breathe I will be forced to boycott the match.
Some German officials have been pressing to prevent Ahmadinejad's visit. Soccer matches have potential for violence under normal circumstances, said an editorial in Der Spiegel. We dont need another lunatic in the grandstands.
