Al Qaeda: Expect 'Major Attacks' Following Zarqawi's Death
Sunday , June 11, 2006
CAIRO, Egypt Al Qaeda in Iraq vowed Sunday to carry out "major attacks," insisting in a Web statement that it was still powerful after the death of leader Abu Musab al-Zarqawi.
The statement did not name a successor to Zarqawi, who was killed by a U.S. airstrike Wednesday. But it said the group's leadership "renews its allegiance" to Usama bin Laden.
CountryWatch: Iraq
Bin Laden "will see things that will bring joy to his heart," it said, vowing "to prepare major attacks that will shake the enemy like an earthquake and rattle them out of sleep."

Does this mean the drive by media is going to have to follow by renewing their allegiance by stepping up their mutual propaganda?
If AQ were still powerful it wouldn't "vow", it would just do.
yes it does - and they will make the biggest deal out of the smallest attack.
it will be interest to see what they have up their sleeve and if we can thwart it - and make it a public example that we can stop them.
Yes, the MSM will be having anti-American orgasms now. Every time one of these Islamic sub-human piles of excrement says a word, they are wringing their hands, and pumping up the fear-mongering providing more encouragement to these filthy excuses of humanity.
Go libs, go! Work HARD against America!!!
Bingo!
Still waiting for the attacks that bin Laden and al-Zawahri threatened on America 4 years ago.
So... they weren't already doing everything in their power to wreak death and misery? They were holding something back? How about that.
"When you have to shoot, shoot, don't talk."
Thanks.
Isn't it amazing how the Islamfascist loving MSM mediots are behaving so quickly and dishonorably after their beloved Z Pig's Death!

How Could Good News from Iraq Make So Many Bad Headlines?
Posted by Greg Sheffield on June 9, 2006 - 11:50.
If the death of Abu Musab al-Zarqawi were "good" news, it's hard to imagine how the media could report much worse for "bad" news in Iraq.
Pretend Pundit has a good roundup of media headlines.
One day after the killing of Al-Zarqawi, it's business-as-usual for the Drive-by Media. The Washington Post even ran a poll reminding us that we all think Iraq sucks.
If I'm a Democratic strategist, I couldn't be happier. Here are this morning's top headlines:
CNN: Al-Zarqawi is dead, violence continues
CNN: Abu Musab al-Zarqawi was alive when U.S. troops first reached him after the airstrike on his safe house, a U.S. general said, according to news reports. Of course, there's got to be controversy. What did Rumsfeld know and when did he know it?
MSNBC: Al-Zarqawis legacy?
MSNBC: Most logical successor
MSNBC: Poll: Many support troops, not war
ABC: Al-Zarqawi's Death: A Violent Prelude? A rash of bombings in Baghdad showed that insurgency in Iraq will not end with the al Qaeda leader's death.
CBS: Violence Persists After Zarqawi
NYT: Hatred He Bred Is Sure to Survive Terrorist's Death: "While Abu Musab al-Zarqawi's death could erode his group's ability to carry out attacks, the insurgency he helped ignite will go on without him ...according to officials." (I love when journalists do that)
WP: No clear path in weary Iraq
WP: Corpse makes a chilling portrait
I give NPR credit, though. They reported news. NPR: Weeks of Surveillance Led to Attack on Zarqawi: The final phase of the hunt for Zarqawi began weeks ago, set off by tips from his own aides.
NPR: Hideout a Wealth of Information
NPR: Zarqawi's Bloody Legacy
Ya??? You nimrods had to wait til we blowed up your boss to bring out the 'big guns'??? Whadda ya gonna do, hire more journalists???
"If AQ were still powerful it wouldn't "vow", it would just do."
No kidding. They say this stuff all time. They say this stuff since 9-11!
This will get reported but the mass amounts of raids recently and desperate messages from Al Qaeda nearly begging for help do not get reported.
Because Al Qaeda wouldn't have wanted to hurt us otherwise!
wait a minute.. haven't they been planning major attacks for ever?? you mean if Zarqawi was still alive and kicking AlQaida would only concern itself with carrying out small attacks instead?
Good article
Media filter Iraq news through anti-war left

Before Zakie's death they were planning a Kumbaya festival with Joan Baez and John Kerry.
If I were pushed for a single word to describe the Arab male, it surely would be "bravado". Another would be "paper tigers".
