A political reporter who was on the road with Gore during campaign 2000 takes a highly critical look at the post-election-day efforts by Gore and his team to, in the author's view, "steal the election." He chronicles the events as they unfolded day by day, and provides much behind-the-scenes reporting on the Gore team.
Word from the Publisher AT ANY COST is the inside story of exactly how Al Gore dragged a one-day presidential election into a five-week ordeal and nearly pulled off the largest act of political larceny ever in American politics. Award-winning reporter Bill Sammon spent months on the campaign trail following the Gore campaign, and then spent the last 40 days in Florida tracking the post-election ordeal.

Thats a misconception. Gore lost the state of Tennessee by a much larger margin than Smith County. George W. Bush won by a fairly decent margin across the state.
This was one of the first political books I ever read. It's spellbinding; I couldn't put it down. Bill tells all - as he viewed it happening.
This is a MUST READ for every person who already knows in their heart that the dems steal elections - it's their method of winning - and it appears - their only method of winning because they offer NOTHING to help the people .. only ideas to broaden the government's scope of intrusion into our lives.
READ IT!! You'll be happy you did.
And .. it may change people's mind about how Bush handled that election after-math. Bush knew exactly what he was dealing with .. if you count the ballots enough times, you can continue to weed out more and more opponents' votes - aka exactly what happened to Rossi in Washington State.
And .. the other thing that got to Gore .. Bush had 12 years of experience dealing with DC - and he already knew how corrupt some of the dems were, and how the media would support the dems no matter what they did.
BINGO!
As well, why Bushbots and "GOP first" types can't see past this is befuddling.
I remember reading "informed speculation" on how many GOP electors would be shown the contents of their FBI files to convince them to "vote their consciences" for Gore.
I always thought this was a Clinton operation, and Gore was just their willing sock puppet. There were also Clinton fingerprints over the 2004 race, including a shot across Kerry's bow with the "bimbo in Africa" who conveniently signed an affadavit right after the MSM was put on her trail.
As long as the Clintons remain out of jail, and maintain their FBI database and private secret police, they remain a threat to America.
Thanks for your posting. That is what my tagline has been about ever since that time.
Don't for get yard gnome Warren Christopher.
All it proves is that we're even better than them at that!!!!!!!
Although this is a "Well, duh" story to anyone not brainwashed by the Democratic Pravda known as the MSM, this report will never be heard by most Americans.
If, on the other hand, it were a Republican insider reporting the same thing it would be the lead story for days and it would be the main topic of conversation from water coolers to barrooms, complete with tisking, head shaking and "Culture of Corruption" mantras.
That just about sums it up.
Here's what I recall.
1. Students in Wisconsin (Marquette) are caught with multiple ballots they had cast for Gore.
2. Oregon's heavilly-liberal Multnomah County keeps the polls open at its headquarters on Stark Street (Oregon is vote-by-mail, a lib's dream for cheating, amd there are no traditional polling places) past closing. Outside HQ cars are seen delivering bags of ballots.
Oregon's Secretary of State, Bill Bradbury, has been in place so long that many suspect his operation is rife with vote fraud. Just before the 2000 election he hires Paddy McGuire, former Clinton Gore Oregon manager as his Deputy. And in the days before the 2000 election McGuire is on tape as telling Gore that he will 'deliver' Oregon, despite a last-minute statewide poll showing Bush ahead by 3%.
PS Gore is given Oregon as a win. But because of the math in electoral votes, the Bush campaign focuses exclusively on Florida, instead of numerous other states where it appears big city and liberal voting officials committed outright vote fraud.
Your post is a good synopsis of the more important parts of the book. Especially the telemarketing which I found to be appalling.
As exhausting as it is we need to continue to challenge these "big lies". They have already become accepted truth and history among many libs.
Seriously though, what do you think he would have done. The worse case would be: noting effective. Say have the FBI investigate who-done-it and ask the Talibahn to extradite Osama.
That would not have resulted in us being forcible converted to Islam.
You are most wellcome
>>Democrats have volunteered to me on multiple occasions that Democrats, more exactly John Daley, stole the 1960 election. I was told this several years before 2000. Each time, I cringed because I am a patriotic American and I hate to hear of such things in America. My attitude was: too bad, you can't change the past, no need to talk too much about this - airing our dirty laundry, we must do better in the future. The Democrats who volunteered their opinion of Democratic party voter fraud were very matter of fact. Their attitude was very different than in 2000 when they falsely claimed that Bush stole the election. My theory is that Dems, to include the Daley's, think they are owed a stolen Presidential election every generation.<<
Democrats and their supporters in recent years have been acting like the thugs and hooligans you find in Third World Countries
