Getting rid of an absolute illegal apologist like Chris Cannon in the primary would be nice.

Whoever Tad Walch is, he is more than a tad mistaken.

Correct. She was US Treasurer, 1981-83.

I mean, of course, you are correct, in case that was not clear.

"There's no question this is bigger than Chris Cannon and John Jacob," Jacob said. "This race could go a long way toward determining whether we have illegal immigration and amnesty or whether we'll send (illegal immigrants) back or invite them to go back and secure our borders." As much as I hope Jacob pulls it out it's a mistake imo to portray it this way. What they're saying is if he doesn't then it's a signal for Congress to go ahead with amnesty and guest workers and you can bet that's exactly what we'll hear. It's obvious the media's laying the groundwork for that with this story. The fact is Cannon is a long-term incumbent while Jacob is a relative unknown. In several states the pro-border side has been winning elections and this is only one which we may or may not win.

Ah...the buchanan rearing their ugly heads again. Thank goodness, just when I thought there would be no humor whatsoever in this election cycle.

Veteran CNN political reporter Candy Crowley flew to Utah on Friday...
Heavy lift capability required.

A lot of useful info about Cannon here, including the illuminating speech he gave to the immigration lawyers group.
So, CWOJackson, are you for Cannon or Jabob?

I'm reluctant to bash Cannon. I realize he might be at odds with many on the immigration issue, but he is a strong conservative according to the ACU, and I don't believe in automatically booting a known conservative just because of one issue.
I do trust the voters of that district--since it is a strong conservative district, the right people will get to make the choice! :)

There are lots of other things in play in this race.
Chris Cannon has tons of personal baggage that has nothing to do with his disgusting open borders stance.
He's made alot of enemies who would like to see him go down.
I think the chances are very high that he will.

Look up John's website. Send him something. Make the point. Throw cannon under the bus. We have no worries about losing the seat. Let's dump this "mckennedy" Republican. Jocob is a real Republican.

I thought the bellwether race was the CA50 that was just resolved? How many bellwethers can there be?

I sent in a donation, I'm sending another.
This is going to be difficult to pull off. It's not easy taking down an incumbent, look at Specter and Toomey.
Pray the voters realize what's at stake and take this seriously.

Right, there is an expectations game set up.
Still, since Republicans are loyal and ousting a GOP incumbent is rarer than hen's teeth, there will be a mild backlash if Cannon survives, but a major impact crater on the immigration issue if he goes down. If Cannon is the scapegoat for that horrible Senate amnesty bill, so be it, a message needs to be sent.

As many as needed to stop the pro-amnesty-for-illegals movement dead in its tracks.

Right. Nowhere did Rep cannon even mention how the border should be secured. All BS on this straight from the WH. I am depressed at the notion that these politicians are using border control as a bargaining chip for this hideous senate bill. Are we or are we not at war ! No one should ever forget what they are attempting to do to us. And lets not forget that this is the Bush Bill . Don't ever again feel bad about tossing out a politician. Show them the same loyalty they show us. They are as the great PJ O'rourke says , truly a " Parliament of whores " .
