John McCain had to be dragged kicking and screaming to vote to repeal the tax.
Bill Archer chairs the House committee that has been purposely holding up the repeal of the Death Tax for over a decade.
This Republican Congress is NOT conservative, at least in the Free Republic sense of the word.
They are not just toothless and spineless; they are downright MODERATE !
"They are not just toothless and spineless; they are downright MODERATE !"
If you want them as a group to be more conservative, get rid of the RATS.
"John McCain had to be dragged kicking and screaming to vote to repeal the tax."
The whole tag-team puppet show is getting a bit old, to me. McCain needed to be on record in favor of repeal for the Republican presidential primaries. But, he also needed the appearance of resistance to appeal to his beloved "moderates." And so, the proper scenario for him to be both, simultaneously, was (surprise, surprise) provided for him. Pure stagecraft. The final vote tally was negotiated before the fact.
Bill Archer retired from Congress some years ago. Did they keep him as chair of a House committee?
"John McCain had to be dragged kicking and screaming to vote to repeal the tax."
I have a hard time beleiving John McCain is a conservative at all, let alone a Neo/Paleo.
I see only CINO.
