They all screamed the same crap about Reagan during the 1980s.

I don't remember any such thing. Have quotes to back up your claim?

it was Republicans in the House who pushed for the strict anti illegal immigration bill.

Kudos to them ... and catcalls to the Republicans in the Senate and White House who want amnesty.

In this World, how do you have a strong defense without being "entangled" with foreigners?
  1. Show them your big stick.
  2. Tell them, "Mess with me and I'll smack you with this."

No entanglement.

Reagan was a neocon.

When did he engage in nation-building?

Parting shot then I gotta go. In my mind, the Democrat's challenge is to forge Unity from Diversity and the Republican's challenge is to forge Diversity from Unity. Whoever pulls it off best will win in November. I think the Democrats have a much tougher job trying to organize a barnyard of special interest groups with the only shared value being victimhood. Republicans have got the upper hand since we share many conservative values but we have got to start working with each other to allow some diversity without compromising our integrity and not shooting those who don't agree with us individually. That is what POLITICS is all about. Over time, we can change the party from within and win; if we part ways we won't.

And yet you still agree with Deaniac and dem rhetoric...

Not I.

You must have me confused with someone else. The article was written by Bonnie Alba and, like most articles, some parts ring true while other parts irritate.

Every President meets different circumstances.

Reagan did send troops to Lebanon.

Reagan did invade Grenada. Call is what you wish but it was nation building. Being a tiny nation, it just took hours.

He also helped "nation build" Nicaragua.

And the greatest Nation building of all time so, he helped to rebuild Russia from the Soviet Union.

Different time. Different place. Different methods. But it was all to build nations into something we prefer.

It's time to remember President Reagan's wisdom. In 1975, people who were put off by Gerald Ford's policies suggested that he run as a third party candidate - Reagan turned them down, and called for change within the Republican Party. Time proved his wisdom correct.

There is a time to fight, and it is in the Republican primaries.

Regards, Ivan

And don't forget the eleven RepublicRATs who joined their DemocRAT buddies in voting to give Social Security benefits to the illegal invaders in spite of the fact that they forged their documentation.

Reagan did send troops to Lebanon.

Mere presence of troops is not nation-building.

Reagan did invade Grenada. Call is what you wish but it was nation building. Being a tiny nation, it just took hours.

He also helped "nation build" Nicaragua.

Nonsense, and nonsense. Fighting Communist infiltrators was not nation-building ... and few if any combat troops ever went to Nicaragua.

And the greatest Nation building of all time so, he helped to rebuild Russia from the Soviet Union.

Now that's just ridiculous. Bottling up Communism's expansion until it collapsed of its internal contradictions was in no way, shape, or form nation-building.

I should have specified I'm referring to what this author was describing...sorry. :-( I don't think she understands either philosophy. She seemed to imply that any Bush does is by definition neoconservative, and that's a ridiculous definition.

I just posted an excellent article by David Frum that does an excellent job at explain where the "paleos" came from and what motivates them. It might help you to understand them better.

Honest and true Republicans need to refer to the Democrat Party as "The Party of Death."

The oldtimers who vote for Democrats because they're afraid of paying for their own pills are only making matters worse. With the socialist Democrats running the show again it will be euthanasia time for grandpa.

These paleoconservatives threatened to leave the Party when Reagan signed the SALT agreements. Imagine if there was a FR then?? He would have been lynched.

Fossils unite! I'm plenty tired of Republican Lite myself. Time for a change. Then again, I live in Ohio, land of Geo. Voinovich, Little Mikey DeWine and Bob Taft.

The 3 stooges.
