Ill just have to assume that you [Newsday] have no standards
Actually, they do have standards, very definite standards:
*If a "story" hurts conservatives, the facts must be ignored.
*If a fact hurts liberals, the story must be ignored.
Then you suffer from an appalling lack of imagination. Murtha, Al Franken, Jesse Jackson, Kerry and the rest of the usual leftists will jump right on it. They'll "view with concern" the "magnitude of the charges".
More like "Lying But Accurate Media". One can mistakenly believe a falsehood is true, lying is deliberate.
Yeh, they could have wired his rape equipment for sound.

Maybe you would have, I don't think our troops would have, for a common "grunt" type terrorist, or for the big cheese. After getting whacked with two 500 lb bombs, and his insides turned to something like jello that's been run through a blender, he wasn't a threat any longer. Plus they, or the specialists back at base, might be able to get something out of his cowardly self. Unlike Saddam, this one would be tried for "war crimes" in a US Military Tribunal. Then hung by the neck until dead, live on CSPAN.
And the video
It's pretty transparent if you ask me.
Good point.
You said -- "It's not a matter of disipline or propriety, but simply human nature and having been there, I don't honestly see anything wrong with killing a downed or dying enemy."
Okay, then let me ask you (or anyone else) -- do our military forces allow that? Or do they prosecute anyone found to kill someone after captured and secured (as a prisoner)?
I didn't realize that our military allowed that. And if they do allow it -- then why is there anyone complaining about our military killing anyone?
What you're saying doesn't make sense if this is something that our military allows -- because then no one would have any complaint about it.
Do you see what I mean? Can someone clarify that?

Yes, I witnessed him also savagely beating unnamed Iraqi news sources. One guy had blood running from his nose, eyes, ears, etc., etc.... It was horrible!
I noticed the requisite teddy bear in the rubble. Similar to the teddy bear found in the rubble in Afghanistan a while back.
**
Probably the same one recycled.
BTW, someone needs to send over some rolls of "crime scene" tape to keep the loons from climbing all over the rubble.
...Goebbelesque strategy of propaganda being used by enemy.

But I can accept it when it comes from the terrorists. When our MSM act as their propagandists, which is most of the time, I am infuriated.
Yeesh. This MSM media just can not get the important stuff straight.
&&
No, you just don't understand what the "important stuff" is because you are only one of us unenlightened peons. Number one on the list is discrediting George Bush and the military that he leads.
They should just announce that the guy who is claiming the beating took place is the guy that tippede them off to Zarquawi. Let him look over his shoulder for the rest of his life
&&
I love that idea.
I don't think those who oppose democracy in Iraq can understand how we operate. They would beat a wounded soldier, dismember him and hang the mutilated corpse from a bridge, so why wouldn't we?
&&
Excellent point!
duh....I forgot i am not one of the elite inside NY and the Beltway Media intelligentsia. How arrogant of me to even question the MSM.
How arrogant of me to even question the MSM.

Good! I am glad that you are back in your place. Remember that those animals are more equal than we are.
