WASHINGTON - The federal district judge overseeing the CIA leak case against I. Lewis Scooter Libby will hold a pre-trial status hearing Monday. Libby, Vice President Dick Cheneys former chief of staff, is facing five counts of obstruction of justice, false statements and perjury in the investigation of who leaked CIA employee Valerie Plames name to the media.

I tend to believe #2
this is what caught my eye; final draft undoubtedly arrived at after he had taken it home to Mandy who vetted it through the DNC and probably back to Wilson
I just have a feeling the MSM is going to get skewered on this one. Please pass some more buttered popcorn. Hehehe.
What would "Big Russ" advise?
I agree, and hope Andrea Mitchell gets dragged in to the mess.
uhh.."any vacancies at Lewisberg?"

A whoopie cushion with a leak could beat Fitzgerald in court. The only reason this case stays afloat is because it's in a city filled with Lenin's useful idiots.
unfortunately, that's also the jury pool.
speaking of the Wilsons-is anyone watching the replay of the blog meeting in Vegas? our 2 favorite people are sitting on the panel-Joe Wilson and Larry Johnson with both just spewing their outright lies on C-span! I had to turn it off and go back to Greta.
Consider this. Russert says he could not have told Libby becuase he did not know about Plame. Yet Russert's assistant Andrea Mitchell said everybody knew it.. before she was told to change her story.
What if Russert discussed the Plame case with Woodward and perhaps other reporters and Woodward and some of them will so testify. If Libby can show that Russert knew about Plame before his conversation with Libby, then Russert is caught in a lie to a grand jury. Russert is just like many liars. They are not content to say "I did not tell him." They have to make it believable by saying "I could not have told him. I didn't even know about it!"
I would bet a ton of money that if Andrea Mitchell who works for Russert knew about it, then Russert knew about it. And Russert is the kind of guy who would talk about it with people and not even remember doing it.
The question is how many people did Russert talk to who are willing to risk perjury charges to protect Russert.
Much prefer to see the criminal Rep. William Jefferson of LA and Ortiz of South TX tried instead.
The issue I would like for the judge to discuss is whether Fitz has a case he is going to present.
bttt
Did you notice this article is written by "Joel Seidman, an NBC producer, based in Washington, DC "?
Russert is Senior Vice President and Washington Bureau Chief of NBC News, which means, Russert is Seidman's boss.
This journalistic incest cracks me up! And why the Judge automatically believes Russert over Libby, especially given Andrea Mitchell's involvement, is beyond me.
For all the Clinton years, Joe Wilson and the lovely Valerie were attending White House dinners, big players on the DC social scene, there's no way important reporters didn't know where Valerie worked, especially given Joe Wilson's ego driven personality.
Thank you for the ping. This story is like watching a cat chase his or her tail. There is NO beginning only a segment of time snatched out of the air.
>>>>The reason that Time must turn over some documents is, according to the Walton, "a slight alteration between the several drafts of the articles" Time reporter Matt Cooper wrote about his conversations with Libby and the reporter's first-person account of his testimony before a federal grand jury.>>>>
Isn't this exactly what Libby was indicted for?
How about equal treatment under the law????
