I have four kids. Only one of them had an after-school activity. That was twice a week for a half hour. The oldest has band, but that is mostly during school hours. That's it.
There is barely enough time for homework and baths when they get out of school at 4.
We have no organized activities during the summer, except for Vacation Bible School. We may add piano/guitar lessons or gymnastics next year so it may be a bit busier, but I am determined to keep our lives from being too hectic.
I don't know about your school; but my comments were mostly referencing gym and recess. I have 3 kids. They each have gym once every 6 days.
Gym use to be a daily class.
